Sunday, April 6, 2014. STATE OF THE HOUSE: The Living Room. As promised, a state of our problem child- the house. The past year has been filled with lots of elbow grease. Summer 2013 was the summer of dust, sweat, paint, and lots of learning. Here's the rundown:. Started a total revamp of the kitchen (painted cabinets, new butcher block counter-tops, full suite of new appliances.). Tore up the nasty carpet/linoleum and put down beautiful hardwood floors. Started replacing all the baseboards and moldings.
