Make The Years Count. April 26, 2011. I had been given yet another chance to excel in excellence and I wanted to take advantage of that opportunity. Immediately I begin to write my acceptance letter to Columbia College on why I wanted to attend their school, I was skeptical of what I wanted to say but I knew there was no time for hesitation. Finding the Right School. I wanted to see smiling faces with friendly attitudes, and that’s something Benedict lacked. I did enjoy Benedict’s HBCU. My mother and I c...

Make The Years Count. April 10, 2011. I stand beside my mother on the sidewalk, watching my best friend as she walks away from me. Just yesterday only six houses stood between us, but tomorrow we will be separated by the Atlantic Ocean. Now, it is time to say our final goodbyes, and I realize that at this moment things will be different for me, especially school. Most 7 year olds cherish their playground moments, but for me it was different. In fact, recess was the part of the day I hated the most. My ey...

The body image factor | Jenny's Weigh
https://jennysweigh.wordpress.com/2011/04/28/the-body-image-factor
Performing arts: guilty pleasure or exercise method? The body image factor. I want to look like Taylor Swift one day, I confided in my fiancé one afternoon while I was watching one of her music videos. Uh, ok, good luck with that, he responded, rolling his eyes at me. I eventually realized that body image was slowly becoming an importance in my life. Maybe it was the diet, maybe it was. The recent fashion trends or maybe it was because all of the music stars right now are really just that gorgeous. This ...

Fearing the Nutritional Facts. The body image factor. Performing arts: guilty pleasure or exercise method? The dying swan leans her head back as she expands her wings for the last time. She pirouettes gracefully, weakly, across the pond and in one sweep of her body, one swish of her elongated wings, she collapses and meets her demise. The studio I attended was quiet and located on a side street in my hometown. I took many ballet classes, a tap class and a gymnastics class. I eventually dropped gy...This ...

A New Beatles Generation. April 26, 2011 · 1:12 pm. I followed Jamie up the narrow, pitch-black stairway of the club. At the top we reached a room with three couches and infinite graffiti covering the walls. One of the windows was taped shut, and the bathroom door was hardly wide enough for an average-sized person to fit through. We were at the Double Door Inn. In Charlotte, N.C., and I was determined to find out how a Beatles band from 1979 remained together 32 years later. A New Beatles Generation.

Embarking on the Mystery Tour Adventure of a Lifetime. April 25, 2011 · 2:24 pm. A New Beatles Generation. It started with a young female’s voice reciting, A, B, C, D. Set to simple chords in the background, the song sounded vaguely familiar. I looked up from my seat on the couch. With slight confusion. With the next line Can I bring my friend to tea? I realized I was listening to a version of the Beatles’ All Together Now. 60s songs in her high school chorus program. Across the Universe is the latest Be...
