An intervention is an event that presents reality (specific information) in a receivable form (with concern) to a person unable to see that reality (in denial). The goal of the intervention is to have the pilot in question agree to a professional substance abuse evaluation; it is not to try and get the subject to admit that they are chemically dependent.
