Jujutsu or yawasube literally means yielding techniques and refers to the traditional Japanese methods of unarmed combat. In Hirakawa Ryu these techniques are based upon the philosophy of a calm mind and flowing attitude. This philosophy is symbolized by a reflection of the moon contained within a circle or enso. Hirakawa Ryu maintains a private training area at the headquarters but does not have a public dojo at this time. Nor do we accept omote-deshi (public students). Private classes at your location can be arranged using the link to the right. Why have a Private Class? There are many reasons why you may wish to have a Private Class. A Private class is Private. So you can learn without peer pressure. As an Instructor you may wish to have prior experience before scheduling a seminar at your school.
