65374;life is great in Korea~. Gyeongju Trip ~1st day~. I wrote this yesterday but did not upload.I need to do that now- -. About a month ago, Sogang University informed Light fellows that there is a fieldtrip to Gyeongju for the summer college students, and we could tag along if we wanted to. So, Dana Bob and I decided to go to the trip. The schedule for the first day was to go around Seoul. First, we went to Gyeongbokgung palace. After this interesting evnt, we had lunch near Insadong. Insadong is ...

65374;life is great in Korea~. Korean Food, Fooood, Foooo.oood! So yeah Hee-sun accurately pointed out that the banner of the blog looks delicious, but then all my posts have no tasty pictures and details. Only food this time. And probably next time as well. Banchan: First thing you will see when you enter a korean restraunt. These side dishes. They are always free, and the restraunt will refill them when we finish eating them. Naengmyeon: Literally means "cold noodle", and served with noodle, boiled egg...

Hisa's Seoul: Gyeongju Trip ~3rd day~

http://www.hisainseoul.blogspot.com/2009/08/gyeongju-trip-3rd-day.html

65374;life is great in Korea~. Gyeongju Trip ~3rd day~. Third day of the trip. So After the stay in Jeonju, we left early and went to Haeinsa. It is a buddist temple that is World Heritage Sites in Korea. It's in the middle of Korea, and its full of nature. I can totally understand why the this place was picked as the location of the temple. This temple is famous for having the Tripitaka Koreana, t. He whole of the Buddhist Scriptures carved onto 81,258 wooden printing blocks, It has been here since 1398.

Summer in Seoul: July 2010

http://cskorea09.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Sunday, July 18, 2010. So we went to the Mud Festival yesterday, and it was not exactly what I expected. Yes, there was mud, but it was also monsoon season, so there was also a lot of rain! Sunday, July 11, 2010. Since my last post:. Here are some pics from the show. I think I enjoyed the special group performances more than the actual competition. anyways, it was still cool to experience. Some guilty pleasure after study hard for midterms! I think it was the best meal I had in Korea this summer! Best Pr...

Summer in Seoul: catch up

http://cskorea09.blogspot.com/2010/08/catch-up.html

Sunday, August 8, 2010. So it seems that I have a lot of posting to do for the past couple of weeks that I've been away. Compared to last summer, I've been going to a lot more less city-like places which has been great. I've definitely been getting a different view of Korea. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Summer in Seoul: September 2009

http://cskorea09.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Thursday, September 17, 2009. It has been a couple of weeks since I've been back, and this has given me some time to think about how I spent my summer, thoughts for this year, and plans for next summer. So this past summer, it was more than I could have asked for. I know I went to Korea to improve my language skills, but I think I got far more out of this trip than just new grammar patterns and new vocabulary. Yonsei is renowned for its language program. Mostly comprised of non-native students, they ...

Summer in Seoul: July 2009

http://cskorea09.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 17, 2009. So it's been a while since I updated. I apologize for that. To make up for it. I will post some pictures of my time in Korea so far. Most of it is food. What can I say, we all like to eat here! I've also eaten a lot of foods that I don't have pictures of because I didn't have my camera with me at the time, but I will have more opportunities in the future, so don't worry! This is 우동 ( udong. Which is like udon noodles). This is 라볶이 ( rabokki. Which is ramen with 떡볶이, dukbokki. Which...

Summer in Seoul: June 2009

http://cskorea09.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html

Monday, June 29, 2009. Since my last post, I've been to three classes, into Sinchon twice, and stayed out once. My first day of classes on Thursday was definitely unexpected. First of all, they placed me into Level 1, Course B, which is a) starts with the Korean alphabet (are you kidding me? I definitely did better than that on the placement test! B) is on the slower course, "specifically designed for native English speakers". what is that supposed to mean? Afterwards, we had 팥빙수, patbingsu. On Saturday,...

Summer in Seoul: June 2010

http://cskorea09.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Tuesday, June 29, 2010. So midterms is actually one week from today! There's a lot of studying that needs to be done between now and then. Tutorial has also been pretty cool. We have a weekly free write, which I like because I can write more about what I've done in Korea, and what I think about Korean life in Korean. I also really like my classmates. I've been getting to know a couple of the Japanese girls in my class, and they are all so sweet! We recently had a 막걸리. Saturday, June 26, 2010. And unbelie...
