Growing our family. transforming our home. pursuing our passions. becoming. July 17, 2011). Thankfully, he has some great friends who decided to surprise him to celebrate! These are the guys in our couples small group. Most of them haven't known Curtis for very long, but apparently just long enough to know that there isn't anything he'd enjoy much more than some good Frisbee golf. Not gas, or a kidney stone, but that test thing)". Yes, congrats babe. Wednesday, January 25, 2012. For the artistic types, A...

a family becoming: a good day
http://afamilybecoming.blogspot.com/2012/03/good-day.html
Growing our family. transforming our home. pursuing our passions. becoming. August 2, 2012). It was just a good day. Good kids, good weather, good fun. And great pictures. Enjoy. This may be my favorite picture of Annabelle e.v.e.r.*. I know I should probably give God since He did "knit [them] together" in my womb, but I just have to say. Curtis and I made some cute. Ps one more thing. just wanted to prove that Annabelle is finally starting to grow a little hair! There are even a few curls!

Growing our family. transforming our home. pursuing our passions. becoming. August 20, 2011). Confession: my kitchen isn't the cleanest. I do try to keep it clean and yet the basic maintenance is about as far as I get. As proof. we had friends over recently and two of the guys ended up trying to scrub down my stove because it apparently looked that. 1 Put the burners into a seal-able bag. 2 Add half a cup (or even less) of straight ammonia. 3 Seal the bag. 5 Wipe clean with a sponge. August 19, 2011).

Growing our family. transforming our home. pursuing our passions. becoming. A quick visit and toddler kisses. July 7, 2011). Though we struggle sometimes to manage the balance between family and friends on our trips to Knoxville, we are almost always able to enjoy a visit with a few friends. This time, we had a fun dinner out with two families of friends. When the kids couldn't stay seated any longer, the dads took them outside to run around. Curtis started snapping pictures of the little ones. Loudly...

Growing our family. transforming our home. pursuing our passions. becoming. Since we moved to NC, we have been blessed to live closer to Curtis' cousin Mary Ellen and her family. (By "closer", I mean that they are now only 3 hours away from their home in New Bern instead of 8! Right now, it is just Mary Ellen and her two girls at home, because her husband Kevin deployed last August for Afghanistan. Please don't judge the "dumb and dumber" haircut on our son. Meanwhile, I loved having this sweet opportuni...

a family becoming: worth it
http://afamilybecoming.blogspot.com/2012/03/worth-it.html
Growing our family. transforming our home. pursuing our passions. becoming. August 6, 2011). What's it like to cram 15 people (five of whom are age 6 and under) into a small 3.5 bedroom beach house for a family "vacation"? Craziness. Fun, loud, claustrophobic craziness. Makes for some startling wake-up calls! But some fun morning photo sessions! Ah, cousins. And Soothies pacis. Doesn't get much better. When it gets a little too crowded, thankfully we can always escape down to the beach! To top it all off...

Growing our family. transforming our home. pursuing our passions. becoming. July 11, 2011). I find it really difficult to describe our trips to Windy Gap. I always have. There is so much history. There, both for Curtis and for me; such beauty. In the place, people, and the message about Jesus;. And such a tangible sense of God's hand at work. There is no way to explain our time at Windy Gap, but hopefully these images will help to capture it. At the rodeo, on Independence Day. Too perfect. Oh, the joy!

Growing our family. transforming our home. pursuing our passions. becoming. Honey's happy (and hot) day. July 23, 2011). Some of our great friends threw an awesome summer-y party for their newly 2 year old Honey. They even went the extra mile to order an extra helping of HEAT for the day. Holy cow. Good thing it started out at a water splash park- perfectly fun! The heat tried to melt them into oblivion (note: best at an INDOOR party! I think they ended up being a big hit! Happy birthday, Honey!
