The Anderson County Kansas Historical Society was founded on January 6, 1968. In the fall of 1968 a room was acquired on the 2nd floor of the courthouse in Garnett for a museum. On December 1, 1971, the Farrow Building, 5th and Main was opened for additional displays. The museum was located there until February 4, 1992. President - Kristie Kinney.
