A History Geek's Guide to Changing the World. July 7, 2015. July 15, 2016. I have dyslexia and I have worked with students with a range of Specific Learning Differences (SpLD). I intend to blog about news items informed from a personal or historic angle. https://historytiglet.wordpress.com/2015/07/08/budget2015
A History Geek's Guide to Changing the World. July 8, 2015. July 15, 2016. I have been active on twitter and listening to the radio today following the budget and the major changes proposed. I cannot believe how the discourse has changed to a re-turn to the rhetoric of the 1980s. Low taxes, small state and high wages will not be the outcome of this budget. Check out: http:/ www.livingwage.org.uk/. A rise in the minimum wage and tax cuts will not full compensate for these loses. Https:/ blog.lboro....
DSA (Disabled Student Allowance) – historytiglet
https://historytiglet.wordpress.com/2015/07/11/dsa-disabled-student-allowance
A History Geek's Guide to Changing the World. DSA (Disabled Student Allowance). July 11, 2015. July 15, 2016. As I have written in previous blogs I have dyslexia, which was diagnosed at the age of 26 whilst I was studying for my Masters which can be found here. Https:/ historytiglet.wordpress.com/2015/07/07/dyslexia/. It was also discovered at this time that I had dyslexia, which also entitled me to additional help and support. This is why I was so horrified to hear of the proposed government cuts to DSA.

I’m planning to fill it with catching up with friends, and visiting museums, pubs and parks. My knees and ankles are misbehaving but will still be exploring with lots of pit-stops. The educational thoughts of a North East History Teacher. Go with the flow. November 18, 2015. The key point is that although the demands on my time may have increased, I still need to make the time to reflect and think. Otherwise I run the risk of never learning from my mistakes. To summarise then, consider this an intention to start trying to blog again. It’s easily said, but we’ll see if I can manage it! View all posts by MrHopeVGMS →. The educational thoughts of a North East History Teacher. ACT Assessment… my final acronym! Should CUE become CUT? February 3, 2015. I’ve been using CUE 1234, (Content, Understanding, Evaluation) for several months now with my students as an assessment tool. Now I’m starting to wonder whether I should change it slightly? My main issue is that there is a definite overlap between Understanding and Evaluation and they could easily be merged into one area. View all posts by MrHopeVGMS →. You are commenting u...

Wednesday, October 27, 2010. The Most Notable Egyptian Dynasties. Ancient Egypt had a lot of dynasties. About thirty, give or take. And unlike dynasties in other countries, we don't even call them by unique names. We just say "First Dynasty, Second Dynasty," etc. Some of these dynasties are super important. Some are unimportant, but contained important rulers or coincided with important events. Others are not important in any way. 1) The Third Dynasty. The chancellor who designed the pyramid. Imhotep.
