HobbyDr's Workbench: September 2011
http://hobbydr.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 6, 2011. Inspiration from an Old Friend, Pt.5. We start with some unfinished business. Here is the picture of the base after masking from the last post. The second is after priming that I forgot to take last time. I also masked off the bottoms of all the walls, so I should have plenty of bare styrene to styrene contact for solid glue joints. I scribed the curved outline on the blue plastic. To cover the seams, I wrapped the top with .010 x .250 styrene. Art had skylights on his buildin...

Chris Guard of Mardat's Hobby Blog: The Goblin King
http://chrisgomhobbyblog.blogspot.com/2013/05/efgt-goblin-king.html
Thursday, 23 May 2013. I've had the Goblin King painted for a while, just never got round to posting him. I painted him to match the pale skinned Goblins, although I think at the time I got fed up with painting the skulls on the staff thing. I plan on adding some yellow grass to all of my Goblins and Dwarves at some point as well. Chris, Guard of Mardat. 27 May 2013 at 00:38. Thats some sweet painting! The skins really painted well. Wednesday, 29 May 2013. Prince Imrahil and Knights of Dol Amroth. Next up for my Gondor army is Prince Imrahil and 6 Knights of Dol Amroth - Imrahil was in desperate need of being repainted. Other than painting the white on Imrahil's cloak, I really enjoyed painting these guys. Chris, Guard of Mardat. Labels: Army Painting Challenge 2013 (1). Lord of the Rings. Thursday, 23 May 2013. HobbyDr's Workbench: July 2011
http://hobbydr.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 29, 2011. Transfer Caboose, Pt.4. The project continues. Next up was the walkway over the roof. I debated this for a while, as I really liked the smooth, clean roof-line, but the walkway won out. I started by slicing off the bottom of the cupola. (This is why you never throw anything away.). It took some gentle sanding to get this fragile part, but the curve perfectly matched the roof while the top was flat. I cut, trimmed, and re-glued it into these 'J'-shaped. Here it is installed. The bra...

HobbyDr's Workbench: August 2011
http://hobbydr.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Inspiration from an Old Friend, Pt.3. The project progresses, sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly. But I'm having fun, and that's all that matters. Art scratch built a motorized roll-up door out of scraps of the corrugated awnings for this side of the boiler room addition. Remember, he was holding himself to only. Using the kit parts, as well as using all. Of the kit parts. Also remember, I am not. Here it is glued to the back of the top of the long wall. The styrene strip...

HobbyDr's Workbench: May 2013
http://hobbydr.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 20, 2013. I began, of course, with styrene. For the front and left sides, with. For the wooden floors. As the back and right walls were not going to be seen, I went with. For them. (Actually, I never intended to make any interior details, so all the inner surfaces would be plain as well. Though I was making three houses, I started just with one to test the proportions. The side walls are 12' wide by 8' tall, with the roof peak at 11'.The front wall is 20' wide. Then mark them with a scribe.

HobbyDr's Workbench: Inspiration from an Old Friend, Pt.11
http://hobbydr.blogspot.com/2011/12/inspiration-from-old-friend-pt11.html
Sunday, December 18, 2011. Inspiration from an Old Friend, Pt.11. We're in the homestretch now. I think I have all the outer details complete. Let's take a look. The external stairway is installed, as are the awnings over the windows and doors. I decided against vines for added interest to this corner. I went with an awning for the loading dock. And a sign board, for the company logo. I don't know, did I go from 'too blah' to 'too busy'? The back wall. Nothing much has changed here since last time. I thi...
