Noted author, local historian, and a devoted friend of Hog Hammock Public Library. Mrs Bailey and her husband, Mr. Julius Bailey, donated our library refrigerator, bought snacks for our summer programs, built our wheelchair ramp and a skirt around our building. Sapelo Island is accessible only by state-run ferry or private boat. The ferry departs from Meridian, Ga., at 9 am sharp, and departs Sapelo Island to return to the mainland at 4:30 pm.
