Sunday, October 19, 2014. Some fisheries can be downright intimidating. The current river we're camped on defines this for me. Many fisheries are intimidating right off the bat just due to newness. Figuring out where to fish is just the start. When dealing with a large river you also may question your casting skills and think you must boom out spey casts to even stand a chance. Next up I'll be trying to catch some warmwater species on our travels to Tennessee. Labels: dry line steelhead.

A few weeks ago I found myself on a unique piece of water that I have not fished in years, the White Salmon. In that time of absence one thing stands out more than anything, there is no longer a dam present. On October 26, 2011 Condit dam was breached opening up thirty plus miles of spawning habitat for steelhead, chinook salmon and lamprey. Tuesday, August 26, 2014.
