Thursday, July 31, 2014. There's only 4 of us around here. Lauren has been a missionary in Salt Lake City for 9 1/2 months now and is super happy and working hard and remarkably healthy. Rachel was called as a church service missionary serving in the Nauvoo Brass Band for 3 1/2 months. She will be home mid-August. Nathan graduated from 8th grade and will start high school in August. He is growing up way too fast. Megan gets a little tired of just the 4 of us - she can't wait for Rachel to come home.

Thanksgiving weekend - 2011 - Lauren stayed in Utah and the rest of us went to Nauvoo. Here are the kids in front of the Mansion House - one of the prophet Joseph's homes. When you take a road trip with Rachel, if you are in the car too many hours, the trumpet has to come out since she has to practice on a regular basis. We arrived in Utah and celebrated with the Hyde family up Provo Canyon. Some of us like the water more than others do. My cute parents broke down and moved to Utah, so now we are the only ones living out of state. Megan's knee required use of a walking stick for the steep hills.

Dad didn't get home in time, so Nathan handled grilling the chicken for dinner. He is usually quite helpful with meal preparations and is good at baking all kinds of treats. Saturday, February 23, 2013. Some dreams come true.and some have to wait. February 19 - Rachel opens the email congratulating her on admittance to the BYU School of Music as a part of the trumpet studio! I went with her to the audition the end of January and am amazed at her talent and hard work and passion for her music. So grateful she gets the chance to follow her dream! She did manage to get her license and have her 16th birthday! Nathan, Blair and I are just dreaming as we sleep for now.
