Jaster Class Blog: May 2013
http://jasterclassblog.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 2, 2013. I'm a huge Josh Groban fan, and the school concert was on my birthday this year. As a gift the students sang "You Are Loved" for me. Here's the video of that performance. The soloist, Coran, was in my class the previous year. What a beautiful gift! Thank you Hulet Students! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Box Tops for Education. Monday, January 19, 2015. Haunted House For Sale. She was so touched by his story that her family adopted him! I am so thrilled for them! Now to share some Halloween writing and art by this year's crew. They were asked to write a descriptive advertisement to sell a haunted house, then we made some cool haunted house silhouettes in art. Advertising an exciting new house. Non living vampires, if you're out there I suggest you pay attention because this house is perfect for you! It is also disgusting! There...

Jaster Class Blog: The Old Phone
http://jasterclassblog.blogspot.com/2014/01/the-old-phone.html
Sunday, January 5, 2014. My phone was a slightly newer version of this one, it had a regular handset. The children were curious as to how it worked. Instead of telling them right away I made them guess. Here are some of the best responses. (I used the phone pictured above, as it was older than mine, for their directions.). Here's how to work one of these. 1 Plug it into the wall. 2 The little thing on the side is twisted around and the bells ring and it makes energy. You can open it too! Fractions to Dec...

Jaster Class Blog: AZ MERIT SAMPLE TEST LINK
http://jasterclassblog.blogspot.com/2015/02/az-merit-sample-test-link.html
Tuesday, February 3, 2015. AZ MERIT SAMPLE TEST LINK. Here's the link to the sample AZ MERIT TEST ITEMS. To view/practice the math items click the math tab and then the link to the student version of the test. It's a good idea to practice the 3rd grade test as well, since they only give us 5 sample items per grade so far. If it's on the third grade test those skills will probably also be on the 4th grade test. If you want a challenge try the 5th grade test too! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Thursday, October 25, 2012. Officer K and Abo. During Red Ribbon Week (Drug Awareness) we had an extra special visitor come to our class. Timothy's dad is a K9 Officer for the Holbrook Police Department. He came in with his beautiful dog Abo, to show us what they do. Thanks so much Timothy for sharing your dad and his dog with us! Also, a big thank you to Office Kishbaugh and his furry partner. We all really enjoyed your visit. Here's what some of the kids had to say about it. What I learned from Officer...

Jaster Class Blog: November 2013
http://jasterclassblog.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 28, 2013. I am thankful for all my wonderful students, past and present, and for people like this girl, who quickly became a hero to my students. Learning of her story they realized how thankful they were for the ability to go to school and get an education, something denied to many children around the world, especially girls. If you haven't heard of Malala Yousafzai yet, watch this video. Here's some writing my students did in reaction to the article we read and the video above. Girls...

Jaster Class Blog: November 2012
http://jasterclassblog.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 29, 2012. We recently learned about landforms. We made these cool shape books that show each kind of landform. We colored them with oil pastels and wrote about each landform on the back. I got the pattern for these books at GingerSnaps. Great teacher resources over there! Monday, November 26, 2012. Last week we made some awesome Snowman art pictures using oil pastels. They came out awesome! This was the first time most of these kids even used oil pastels! Here are a few of my favorites.

Jaster Class Blog: July 2013
http://jasterclassblog.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 3, 2013. One day while reviewing for the test I told the kids to hold their whiteboards level with their faces instead of above their heads. One of them decided this would be funny. So of course they all had to do it. Made us all laugh so hard. Sometimes you just need a break from all that hard work to have a little laugh. :). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Box Tops for Education.
