Off the southern tip of Ambergris Caye is Belize's oldest marine reserve,the Hol Chan Marine Reserve. Hol Chan is Mayan for 'little channel." When you arrive by boat, a park ranger comes up by boat and each person must pay $10 USD to snorkel there (on top of the fee already paid to the guide company).
