Peanut Butter Chocolate Ice Cream Pie Home Beccanomics
http://www.homebeccanomics.com/2015/07/13/peanut-butter-chocolate-ice-cream-pie
Peanut Butter Chocolate Ice Cream Pie. This was EASY. And I mean it (Lindsay Ridell I really mean it). For summertime entertaining this is a no brainer. It serves 8-10 and can be made days in advance, not to mention it takes about twenty minutes of “effort time” to put together. And really, who doesn’t love ice cream desserts and peanut butter chocolate desserts (this checks both boxes). This dessert was just that – easy enough that I didn’t really care how the diners responded. That bein...2 tbsp. p...
Cheesy Baked Polenta with Swiss Chard Home Beccanomics
http://www.homebeccanomics.com/2015/07/06/cheesy-baked-polenta-with-swiss-chard
Cheesy Baked Polenta with Swiss Chard. I’d been buying this organic polenta to slice and fry up for an easy side dish so it was in my cheese drawer, right next to the mozz and parm. Could thinly sliced polenta work for lasagna sheets? Now, polenta is more grainy (it’s a coarse corn meal) than chewy so though the meal tasted like lasagna, the chew was definitely different. Did I enjoy this even though I could have eaten the standard version? Cheesy Baked Polenta with Swiss Chard. 1 tbsp. olive oil. 5 Driz...
Best Chocolate Frosting Home Beccanomics
http://www.homebeccanomics.com/2015/06/25/best-chocolate-frosting
My friend Susan makes a vanilla layer cake – every time I eat it I check, just to make sure, that she’s using the boxed cake mix and hasn’t found the recipe I’m seeking. I want to make vanilla cake from scratch that I enjoy eating as much as boxed cake mix. Makes enough for to frost 9 in. cake or 12 cupcakes. Adapted from America’s Test Kitchen. 20 tbsp. unsalted butter, softened. 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar. 1/4 c cocoa powder. 1/8 heaping tsp. kosher salt. 3/4 c light corn syrup. 1 tsp vanilla extract.

Fruit Pizza or Tarts. Makes 2 (12 inch) pizzas or about 24 “personal” tarts. Crust (slightly adapted from America’s Test Kitchen Sugar Cookies). 2 c all purpose flour. 1/2 tsp. baking powder. 1/4 tsp. salt. 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened but still cool. 1 tbsp. brown sugar. 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract. 8 oz cream cheese, softened. 1/4 c powdered sugar. 1 c marshmallow creme. 1 pint fresh strawberries, trimmed and sliced lengthwise into 2 or 3 slices each. 1 pint fresh blueberries. 9 Once crusts are CO...
Creamy Zucchini and Basil Soup Home Beccanomics
http://www.homebeccanomics.com/2015/07/16/creamy-zucchini-and-basil-soup
Creamy Zucchini and Basil Soup. You might see this title and say to yourself, soup – in July? The amazing thing about cooking with seasonal produce is that the temperature doesn’t really matter. Creamy Zucchini and Basil Soup. 1/4 c olive oil. 1 large (or two small/medium) onions, diced. 4 cloves garlic, minced or pressed through a garlic press. 1 1/2 tsp. kosher salt, divided. 3/4 tsp. black pepper, divided. 2 lb zucchini (about 3 medium), ends trimmed and chopped. 1/2 c packed basil leaves. 6 Return to...

I like being a nerd. Laquo; When the cat’s away the mouse will assume there’s an imminent home invasion. On February 17, 2012. Ever since becoming a homeowner I have fully embraced the Saturdays painting and going to Lowes like it is as exciting as going out partying. While I haven’t neglected all fun and partying I have grown to love the home fixer upper deep inside of me. That caps lock is in no way an exaggeration of my excitement. I love the little drawers! The Schneider Chronicle: May 2011
http://theschneiderchronicle.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 7, 2011. Yesterday Harrison got his first haircut. We talked about it at home and even pretended playing with his hair and cutting it with pretend scissors. We came equipped with 'paci' and 'doggie'. But, when we actually sat down in the salon chair it didn't quite feel like home. Carolyn, the hairdresser, was great! The 'celebration' after - splashing in the fountain. Frolicking on the beach - edited by Uncle Tony. Hanging on the patio at Aunt Diane and Captain Dave's. My Mom's visit was a...

Chocolate Chia Cherry Granola Bars. I think in the first 17 years of my life, I probably consumed roughly 6,000 Quaker “Chewy” granola bars. I actually multiplied that out (and, by the way, I’m concerned I’m losing my third grade math skills). I just looked up the nutrition info and noticed they stated “sugar”, in it’s various forms, more times than I can count on one hand. Continue Reading →. Continue Reading →. Life’s Questions from the Front Porch. May 14th, 2016 by DeeCee. A year ago today, I sat on my father’s porch on Sugar Hill for two hours, content after a noontime meal of grilled hot dogs, Campbell’s baked beans, and macaroni salad from Connie’s Market. He liked to cook for me, and I always enjoyed the step-back-in-time warmth of eating off the well-worn melmac plates of my childhood. Cold well water washed down coconut washboard cookies. Life was good. No, trying not to! Not always, as my father knows&...

A blog about life, family, and food. Sorry for the lapse in writing, and thanks to those who kindly reached out wondering what’s going on. You’ll be hearing more about all of it in the near future, but suffice to say we’ve had quite a lot of hubbub around here, and I’ll get back to regular posting as soon as we can get it all sorted. Renaming and relocating the blog. Was a very conscious decision. Our old blog, The Purple House. I’m tired of conversations peppered with the phrase after our house sells, d...

Newest fireplace remodels from people who bought our book. Are you ready to get rid of that dated fireplace? Home Bedazzle is a fireplace remodeling and refacing business located in Belmont, California and serving the San Francisco Peninsula. However, we are currently unable to take on new clients so we wrote a book on fireplace remodeling. For those who wanted to do the work themselves.
