http://getlooped.blogspot.com/2010/05/victory-and-splendor.html
Musings on knitting, crochet, and a fairly loopy life. Sunday, May 2, 2010. Last week's Divine aspect was Netzah. Victory or Eternity). This week's aspect is Hod. Splendor or Majesty). It makes sense to discuss them together, since they are counterparts to each other. They can be viewed as the more earthly versions of Hesed. Might) respectively. Netzah. Represents God's active grace and benevolence in the world, and Hod. Represents the way in which God's judgment is dispensed on earth. Hod. Meditating on...

Musings on knitting, crochet, and a fairly loopy life. Tuesday, May 4, 2010. Favorite (fictional) knitters, part IV. It's been a while since we've visited my favorite fictional knitters and I don't know about you, but I've kind of missed them. Here's one who resides at the top of my list:. Gromit, from Aardman Animations'. This little film introduced Wallace's short-lived love interest - yarn shop owner Wendolene Ramsbottom - and Shaun the Sheep, who has gone on to become a famous fictional knitter in hi...

Musings on knitting, crochet, and a fairly loopy life. Thursday, May 6, 2010. Mother's Day is three days away, and while I have a mom-in-law and a step-mom, I no longer have a mom of my own to celebrate the day with. My own mom died of ovarian cancer 21 years ago . and I REALLY can't believe it's been that long! But this year I've found a satisfying way to honor my mother's memory. Mom and Dad at their engagement party (1958). Great-Grandma Esther in the background. Happy Mother's Day, everyone! After I ...

Musings on knitting, crochet, and a fairly loopy life. Sunday, February 28, 2010. Favorite (fictional) knitters, part I. Sure, everyone's heard of Madame DeFarge from A Tale of Two Cities,. Sinsterly knitting a register of people she has marked for death during the French Revolution. But how about more modern, more respectable, fictional knitters? In this and future posts, I'll share some of my favorites. These women aren't just knitters; they're revolutionaries in their own ways. And no matter how badly...

Musings on knitting, crochet, and a fairly loopy life. Sunday, January 31, 2010. Too much. stuff. Remember when the only things in your shower were a bar of soap, a washcloth, and a bottle of Prell? Maybe some baby powder waiting on the counter when you were done? I'm not exaggerating: except for one bottle of shampoo on the top shelf, all these products are MINE! And, yes, I do use them all. When did taking a simple shower become so complicated? Links to this post. Saturday, January 30, 2010. I'm a John...

Looped: simplest seed stitch scarf ever
http://getlooped.blogspot.com/p/simplest-seed-stitch-scarf-ever.html
Musings on knitting, crochet, and a fairly loopy life. Simplest seed stitch scarf ever. This really, truly is the simplest scarf in the world to make. But despite that, it's got great graphic appeal, and works equally well for men, women, and kids. Any two colors of worsted weight yarn. For this project, I used Caron Simply Soft One Pound. MC=Azure (523); CC=Royalty(530). Blunt-tip tapestry needle for weaving in ends. Does not matter for this project. Seed Stitch on odd number of stitches).
