China Pils | Homebrew Japan

https://homebrewjapan.wordpress.com/2014/06/09/china-pils

June 9, 2014. Posted by ligij under 18: Don't Mention The War Pilsner (ag). It’s the beer that almost started a war. It’s incursion into friendly territory – the house fridge – sparked tensions. The first pils I ever brewed was amazing – 18 Don’t Mention The War Pils. It actually started me liking the style as I wasn’t a huge fan before; it tasted like Pilsner Urquell and encouraged me to explore the more bitter, hoppy pils. Collection (after boil off, trub, hops, etc) 19.5L at 1.055. From your own site.

June | 2014 | Homebrew Japan

https://homebrewjapan.wordpress.com/2014/06

June 22, 2014. Posted by ligij under 507: Back to All Grain Pale Ale. 511: New Pale Ale. Two weeks in and China Pils is moving along very slowly. I remember my first fridge Pils took about a month but I still expected this one to be further along than it is. Seems Genki enough though – although I suspect those yeast clumps on top really should have absorbed into the wort as it is supposed to be bottom fermenting yeast. June 9, 2014. May 7, 2014. Posted by ligij under 504: Black Rock Export Pilsner Saaz'd Up. You are looking at 506 Coconut Pils (in a slightly muddy dark photo). After bottling with 3g of sugar, this now tastes gorgeous. I’m astonished. A definite success when it comes to beer rescuing. Another 200g of unsweetened coconut. Roasted. Put in a muslin bag soaked in starsan. And popped in the keg (after taking out the chinook). Still if it does work out, I could definitely enjoy a full keg of Coconut Pils. May 5, 2014.

September | 2009 | Homebrew Japan

September 1, 2009. Brewdog Tokyo* coming to Tokyo. Posted by ligij under Consumed commercial beer. Tags: old hbj blog. Scottish Brewdog and Beerbear in Japan. It’s no secret that my first encounter with Brewdog wasn’t a pleasant one – as I wrote here. I disliked Storm so much that it became one of the few beers I’ve thrown down the sink. But then I’m not fan of whisky cask aged beers – I didn’t like the Harviestoun Ola Dubh either. What is coming to Japan is the controversial Tokyo*. It will be arriving ...

Home Brew and Wine. Tuesday, June 23, 2009. Check out my fermentor chiller. Tuesday, June 16, 2009. Do you like beer? Do any of you guys like beer? And they say that the like Apple pie, but only the way Grandma makes it. If that's the only pie you like, I wouldn't say you like pie, I'd say you like apple pie when Grandma makes it. There are also the mass produced premium beers (Killian's, Amber Bock, Blue Moon.) This I enjoy a lot, and I'll even spend money to buy them. How about you do you like beer?

Home Brew and Wine. Sunday, March 22, 2009. Bottled Magic Hat #9 Clone. Sunday afternoon we bottled the Magic Hat #9 clone. As seen in the photo, we even had a Magic Hat box to put the beer in. I was a little worried about this one because it was our first mini-mash and our mash temperature was too high. I tasted it and other than it tasting a little green, there wasn't any off flavors. We'll see how it turns out in a few weeks. Thursday, March 19, 2009. What have we made so far? C-4 (My own recipe).
