A sarcastic view on life, baking, and everything crafty. August 5, 2015. Quick and Easy Art – Initials. I’ve had some frames lying around that had Christmas pictures in them, but they needed art I could display the rest of the year. After spending so much money on home improvements already this year, I wanted to do something low rent. Suddenly I realized how simple that could be. The best part of this art was that I already had all the materials on hand, so I could just whip it altogether in an hour!
Upcycling and Consumerism | Homemade Sarcasm
https://homemadesarcasm.wordpress.com/2013/11/26/upcycling-and-consumerism
A sarcastic view on life, baking, and everything crafty. November 26, 2013. In the past few months, I have discovered something about myself. I really love crafty magazines. This probably shouldn’t be surprising, but as someone whose only magazine subscription was 2 years of I-didn’t-read-it-at-all scientific american. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to read it, there was just never enough time to read. And then I found another upcycling magazine, so I figured I’d better pick that one up too. These magazine...

Adventures in Chalk Paint: Part 2 | Homemade Sarcasm
https://homemadesarcasm.wordpress.com/2015/03/02/adventures-in-chalk-paint-part-2
A sarcastic view on life, baking, and everything crafty. March 2, 2015. Adventures in Chalk Paint: Part 2. It wasn’t enough to repaint the fireplace. After all, it was light coloured already. No, something drastic needed to change. Yes, that black blob with a tail is our cat, watching tv. It entertains us, too! Another sub-par picture. This is what I get for relying on my phone for a camera…. Just look at that change! It’s bright and clean and beautiful! Binding it ended up being a bit more expensive, at...
Adventures in Chalk Paint: Part 1 | Homemade Sarcasm
https://homemadesarcasm.wordpress.com/2015/02/20/adventures-in-chalk-paint-part-1
A sarcastic view on life, baking, and everything crafty. February 20, 2015. Adventures in Chalk Paint: Part 1. Between Pinterest and my favoured Reloved Magazine. I’ve heard a lot about Annie Sloan’s Chalk Paint in the past year. It’s a UK phenomenon, and being in Canada, we can’t just walk down the street and get it. But we can get it. And finally, finally, we did. The blue painter’s tape is actually an improvement. So we wiped it down and slapped on 2 layers (sanded in between) of Old White chalk paint.

Michelle Obama’s Sloppy Joes. November 21, 2014. There is a hashtag trending right now that our nation’s finest middle and high school students are utilizing to show the world how deprived and unfortunate they are. Because of the First Lady’s efforts to reform school lunches and battle childhood obesity, public schools have altered their serving sizes and menus. Apparently, public school lunches have gone from being just plain disgusting, to smaller and disgustinger. You are being served food. Unless Mic...

Something New | marrymeknot
https://marrymeknot.com/2014/03/25/something-new
To be or not to be…married. Mike and I decided to get married. There was no proposal. No grand gesture that involved an orchestra, or an airplane. No scavenger hunt, no youtube, no flash mob. It was just the two of us, having a conversation on a Sunday afternoon. Probably over coffee and bacon, or folding our laundry. To be honest, I really can’t remember. I recently explained this to a woman I was waiting on the other day. And she asked me “So, what changed? 8221; It was a good question. As this was hap...

https://kittery.wordpress.com/2014/06/17/at-the-intersection-of-discouraged-and-exhausted
The Last American Girl? Thoughts, comments, opinions, insults. At the intersection of discouraged and exhausted. The suicide rate of people with your condition is very high. When I heard those words last year, August 13th, to be exact, I almost let a laugh/choked sob out. I stared at my new doctor (Dr. M., allergist) and felt relief. “So I’m not just being crazy? 8221; Smiling, he shook his head and said, “No.”. I walked out of that appointment. On Friday, I was in the ER. Again. My sister in-law called ...

Monday, November 10, 2014. I don't feel like I have much to write that is anywhere near profound, but I am determined. One of the things you learn in writing is to always plan out our essay; your beginning, middle, and end. Well, for now, I will not be doing that. I just want to "put thoughts to pen and paper," so to speak. That is it for now. I'm actually going to try to get in some devotion time today. Saturday, November 8, 2014. Since I'm here, I want to record the joy I just felt listening to Kael si...

Monday, February 20, 2012. My house is in great need of some decor and organization, but the budget is pretty tight right now so I'm having to get creative. I finally decided to do something about the eyesore it was becoming and grabbed some fabric from my stash, cut it to the dimensions of the shelf, sewed it, and then found a tension rod lying in my closet that was needing a home. Mission accomplished! Much better for now. Tuesday, February 14, 2012. Monday, February 13, 2012. Just need a couple toilet...
