Homeschool with Dyslexia

Friday, March 4, 2011. We planted our seeds today. We started by reading "Plants" by Melissa Stewart, an e-book we checked out from the Scottsdale Library online. The kids learned the word "photosynthesis" and how plants make their own food. Just like we do in the kitchen! We planted sweet corn, green peppers, carrots, cucumbers, pumpkin, peppers, squash, tomatoes, watermelon, forget-me-nots, a single apple seed from an apple my son ate, and a mystery seed my daughter found at the park yesterday. Well, t...

Friday, February 25, 2011. End of expensive Tutoring. Sunday, February 20, 2011. Well, today we got our program, Speaking Naturally, from my friend Rachel, along with the headset from her father. I can't wait to load it onto my son's computer and start using it! We think we may have come up with a way for him to get his tutoring at a discounted rate, so please pray that we are able to go through with it, as we check into the resources I have found. Love to all :o). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Homeschool with Dyslexia: March 2, 2011 - Dr. Seuss's birthday celebration

http://homeschoolwithdyslexia.blogspot.com/2011/03/march-2-2011-dr-seusss-birthday.html

Thursday, March 3, 2011. March 2, 2011 - Dr. Seuss's birthday celebration. We had a great time celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday yesterday! We had some friends over to help us celebrate. We watched "The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That" on PBS in the morning. We baked a cake in the afternoon, and we also read Dr. Seuss books. After everyone took turns stirring the ingredients, Julian carefully put the bundt pan in the oven. Julian was so proud of his work! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Homeschool Moms Dirty Little Secret #3 – Anger

http://www.successful-homeschooling-blog.com/2011/02/homeschool-moms-dirty-little-secret-3-anger

Homeschool Mom’s Dirty Little Secret #3 – Anger. February 28, 2011. I started this series on dirty little secrets in order to address subjects that I know many homeschoolers struggle with, but are ashamed to mention. And it is with great shame that I broach this last topic – anger. Over the years, I’ve read enough forum and blog posts about yelling moms and angry outbursts to know that anger can be a problem both inside and outside of the homeschool community. Even if she had reason to feel frustrated?

Homeschool With Confidence – Homeschooling Advice for Parents

Homeschooling Advice for Parents. Why I started homeschooling. H1 Why I started homeschooling /h1. In the fall/winter of 2012 I began to see a need for homeschooling when my husband and I would spend up to 3 hours a night debriefing our public schooled kids. At that time we had 3 kids that were school age and 2 at home. My husband encouraged me to homeschool and I had a sister-in-law (his sister) that was homeschooling that also gave me encouragement. 8221; I read something somewhere that really was the ...

Need I say more? Yesterday I set up a new blog with broader topics, so I don’t think I will be adding much to this blog anymore. Unless of course I go back to homeschooling at some point. Homeschooling is more about the freedom it provides a family to persue what is most important in life more than anything else. I also discuss if college is for everyone or if maybe starting a business, getting a job or traveling may be more beneficial. Emergency Preparedness 911 Blog. Visit Living Free Forever Blog. Grandma's Homeschool

Monday, February 3, 2014. We got the book and cd from the library. It is fun to listen to as the reader Robert Sevra does some great voices and expressions. The children love maps so this discovery inside the front cover was exciting. We studied it much before we even began the story. They we referred back to it several times as we were reading to follow the journey of Elmer Elevator and his rescue of the baby dragon. The children got out toothbrushes and started to scrub the eggs. BENEFIT of our class t...
