Upward Over The Mountain: Late Summer
http://jonharrisons.blogspot.com/2013/08/late-summer_30.html
Upward Over The Mountain. Friday, August 30, 2013. Life has been a whirlwind of joy lately. I've found myself saying, "It sure feels like fall out here", quite frequently. I guess it's about time I accepted that summer is winding down and breathe in the colors of the autumn in Colorado. These are a few things that I've engaged in the past month:. I went to Quetico Provincial Park in Ontario (west of Lake Superior), with a wonderful group of people. Me, Anna, Matthew, Rachel, Bill, Drew, and Paul, my dad.

Upward Over The Mountain: December 2012
http://jonharrisons.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Upward Over The Mountain. Sunday, December 16, 2012. I've realized this week that I am very much driven by results. I like to have tangible, maybe statistical, evidence that I am progressing in some way, be it as an athlete or as a person. Run We then realize that there will always. Be someone faster than us. But, HA! Progress can continue, because regardless of how fast everyone else may be, I can always become faster than that other "me". Saturday, December 8, 2012. I had wanted to do this at some poin...

Upward Over The Mountain: October 2012
http://jonharrisons.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Upward Over The Mountain. Sunday, October 28, 2012. Week In Review 10/22-10/28: Boulder Basic. I ran both further and faster than I typically do on my runs this past week. The body feels strong and has recovered better than anticipated. I'm excited for runs to come, most notably the week I'll spend in the Seattle area/Olympic Peninsula in early November! Its always a blast to get out with a group of friends and familiar faces (many of whom had patronized the coffee shop at somepoint this summer). The las...

Upward Over The Mountain: August 2012
http://jonharrisons.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Upward Over The Mountain. Monday, August 27, 2012. Week In Review 8/20-8/26: New Kicks and Gore Range Recon. I don't know if its merely coincidence or if it gave a bonafied boost to my morale, but after getting a new pair of New Balance MT1010s in the mail, I returned to normal (whatever that means). Either way, in the three runs I've had in the new kicks they have worked flawlessly. I look forward to testing them out on some longer runs on the Run Rabbit Run course this week. 475 miles, 8 hours, 7,000 ft.

Upward Over The Mountain: Ellingwood Ridge- La Plata Traverse
http://jonharrisons.blogspot.com/2013/07/ellingwood-ridge-la-plata-traverse.html
Upward Over The Mountain. Monday, July 22, 2013. Ellingwood Ridge- La Plata Traverse. We left the La Plata trailhead around 8:00 feeling quite giddy with the prospects of the excursion at hand (and under foot). We jogged the jeep road .3 miles to the singletrack. Trickiness ensued. Hoping off rocks, swinging on branches, I even had the gumption to execute a front handspring, which I will probably never do again whilst wearing a hydration pack. Travis and Mike talusing. Travis, soaking it all in. Four Pas...

Upward Over The Mountain. Sunday, June 24, 2012. The Week In Review: 6/18-6/24, Incredible Summits, Incredible Folks. Well that was it, one of the most physically demanding weeks of training I've ever undergone- and I feel great. Hopefully in a couple of weeks), heading up to Peak One and hanging out with a mountain goat. To top it off I got to spend 35 miles running on the Colorado Trail, and sharing a good chunk of that with friends new and old! Without further ado, the week in review:. Some great folk...

Upward Over The Mountain: April 2013
http://jonharrisons.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Upward Over The Mountain. Monday, April 15, 2013. Our arrival to the east could scarcely have been more timely. For one, in the past two days our home in the high-rockies has received two feet of snow. This far along in April, I prefer the smells of spring. Secondly, this past weekend marked the third annual running of the WNC Trailrunner's Linville Gorge Madness Marathon. Which is where this story continues. The route, designed by Brandon. An exchange that is telling of the course:. My intentions had be...

Upward Over The Mountain: May 2013
http://jonharrisons.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Upward Over The Mountain. Tuesday, May 21, 2013. 160; Adventures dont always end up as planned. If they did, I would likely refer to them as activities. I once heard someone say that adventure doesnt begin until something goes awry. 160; Luna and I reached the Casa de Kirk and decided to layover a few days in celebration of Lilys birthday. We played board games, harvested ramps, and spent a day paddling on the French Broad; time well spent by any measure! Luna and Uwharrie conked out. Morning ligh...
