bren's baby bump: November 2013

Our bumpy road to a baby. Friday, November 01, 2013. Bump #58: this path. Your ears will hear sweet words behind you: “ Go this way. There is your path. This is how you should go” whenever you must decide whether to turn to the right or the left. Deciding to move to Texas was a toughie, but it was a case of God closing doors and opening a window. A hot, humid window to a perpetual sauna, but you get the idea. Looking back, it was really good for us. It made us stronger. I hope to one day be able ...If yo...

Because that's where I do my best thinking…. Everything is going to be ok. Thank you for your kind words after last post. I think we’re doing better. I know I’m doing better. I don’t have any faith in these embryos or in my body and that’s not how I want to move forward with them. I mentioned I had an interview last week. I got the job! Our bumpy road to a baby. Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Bump #88: 36 week belly. For a second I was reluctant to take "bare belly" pics due to modesty and what not, but then I remembered how for so long and so very badly, I wanted to have a baby in my belly and document this amazing time. Also, we've been attending childbirth prep classes and I'm now well aware that in a few weeks all modesty will go out the window, so I might as well prepare now! And now for some "normal" 36 week pics. My mom and sister...

Our bumpy road to a baby. Friday, September 26, 2014. Bump #73: 14 weeks. Ignore the sweaty armpits and the poison oak I'm standing next to. This was after a bit of a hike on a very hot day! When I learned that you could find out the gender at only 14 weeks,. I made an appointment at The Ultrasound Experience right away! Andrew in the waiting room. Yesterday we got to see our baby bear on the big screen! We even got a 4d preview and saw the baby moving and kicking. Friday, September 26, 2014. I'm thinkin...

Our bumpy road to a baby. Thursday, July 31, 2014. Bump #69: the heartbeat. Today was our first ultrasound! I am 6 weeks and 2 days along and the baby measures 6 mm long. This is all so new, and it is so, so tiny, but we are clinging to hope that we will hold this baby in our arms in 8 months. The highlight of today was seeing the baby's heartbeat. Plus some of them were really cute! We just told our family in Ohio the good news and sent a card with this picture. We saw this hilarious article. Featuring ...

Our bumpy road to a baby. Sunday, March 23, 2014. Bump #60: sunsets and salinograms. Friday date night: a sunset picnic at the beach on Coronado Island. Perfection. Don't fret, I ate pie alamode with breakfast and got a new MAC shade so ice cream and lipstick are still going strong. Luckily we live in a beautiful city where white sand beaches abound and it's always 75 degrees and sunny (I see those eye rolls, just know you are welcome to visit us anytime! Coronado Island is this swanky little beach town ...

bren's baby bump: April 2015

Our bumpy road to a baby. Thursday, April 30, 2015. Bump #95: 6 weeks. Ollie Bear is 6 weeks old today. He makes a lot more baby sounds lately. Nothing that at all resembles any actual words, but sweet little sounds nonetheless. He also snores, which I love because I'm the mom that will hover over him all night to ensure that he's still breathing. I still do that, but his snoring is reassuring. He also drools on occasion, but now I'm just bragging :). We spend A LOT of time here changing diapers! I gaine...

http://brensbabybump.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Our bumpy road to a baby. Thursday, August 14, 2014. Bump #71: 8 weeks. It doubled in size again this week and is almost a whole inch long. My stomach has gained more than an inch, as have my thighs and bust, but I don't want to talk about that! I know it still looks blobbish, but there are actually little arm buds and a distinct head and body. I can't wait until I can really feel our little gymnast move around and kick. So exciting! Is it bad that my mantra has already become "I've just got to make it t...

Our bumpy road to a baby. Monday, November 24, 2014. Bump #80: choosing baby's name. Truth be told, we've had these names. Picked out for a long time now. Years. So the second we found out that our baby was a boy, we started calling him by name. I always liked the name Oliver and Vance is Andrew's middle name and a family name passed down for generations. Easy. Plus, it turns out I love names with v's in them so it works perfectly! Perhaps it's just a clue that he will be way into. Lord of the Rings.
