Friday, February 24, 2012. Happy 28th Birthday Brunei. February 23rd 2012 marked the 28th birthday of Brunei. As usual weeks of planning and preparation went into the marking of this occassion. The day itself started with a parade in the capital culminating at the national stadium with the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah in attendance. Despite the searing heat thousands turned out to Taman. Tuesday, February 21, 2012. Well firstly, I believe I'm not entirely wrong in thinking Britain should have joined. Mayb...

Babbling in Brunei: So now sleeping is bad for you!
http://babblinginbrunei.blogspot.com/2015/03/so-now-sleeping-is-bad-for-you.html
Tuesday, March 24, 2015. So now sleeping is bad for you! There is new research out there that now says the traditionally thought 8 hours sleep is not necessarily the ideal amount. Some so called experts are saying it’s too much. They are saying that too much sleep can be even worse for us than too little. I’m not sure we can conclude that 6 hours are better than 8 just yet but it is certainly worth considering how much you actually sleep and try not to sleep too much or too little. I’m not sure we ...

Saturday, February 28, 2015. Protect Your Long-Term Hearing. A new report from the World Health Organisation (WHO) suggests people should listen to music for no more than one hour a day to protect their long-term hearing. It says 1.1 billion teenagers and young adults are at risk of permanently damaging their hearing by listening to either too much or too loudly. It’s important to me therefore to get some good speakers. I recommend Bluetooth speakers. Such as the one shown on the left by the Oasis group&...

Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Is the man delusional? Last night I was flicking through the channels and came across CNN, they were waiting for a press conference from FIFA headquarters so I decided I would wait and see what Sepp Blatter has to say. What I witnessed was one of the most surreal press conferences for a long time. Labels: Cricket World Cup. Thursday, May 26, 2011. The Biggest Prize in Football. This weekend sees the finals of the play-offs in the English Football season. By far the biggest game...

Tuesday, June 7, 2011. All cultures will still find a way to communicate without a specific language and I believe the culture will still have a strong sense of identity. Furthermore, shouldn't cultures adapt? Cultures are not a statistic but are in constant flux. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Follow me on Facebook. Follow me on Twitter. How much is your website worth? Sunday, June 24, 2012. Give this team some time. As always the English media expect the England team to be world beaters and compete at the highest level with the best teams in the world. Why on earth do they always believe this? England are a team in transition, young players are coming through with very little experience you can't expect them to gel overnight and lift a trophy with the likes of Spain and Germany who have been together longer with a whole host of world class players. Competitive eating ...

Thursday, May 31, 2012. Diamond Jubilee Part 1: The Queen. This weekend marks the Diamond Jubilee in the UK celebrating 60 years since Queen Elizabeth II came to the throne. I am a staunch royalist and am hugely respectful of the Queen and the Monarchy. The Queen herself has done an amazing job over the past 60 years and quite rightly deserves the pomp and ceremony that will endure over the next few days. Thursday, May 24, 2012. Babbling in Brunei: April 2011
http://babblinginbrunei.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 28, 2011. I will, along with around 2 Billion other people be watching the Royal Wedding this Friday. As a vehement royalist I will be celebrating with the rest of the country how lucky we are to have a hard working, compassionate and truly inspirational Royal Family that is respected and admired the world over. The Queen has just celebrated her 85. Birthday and has seen so much in. Unfortunately there are some sick individuals who do not see the benefit of a Royal Family. They say th...
