Con daily's photography blog. Tuesday, January 22, 2008. Mountain Chickadee: Wintering Close to Home. Posted by Con Daily. Really nice shots. I especially like the first one. Did you use a flash to get the catch-lights in the bird's eyes? January 22, 2008 at 5:45 PM. Howard took the words right out of my mouth (or computer, in this case). Very nice. The top one is especially sharp and you get a sense of how close you were. January 23, 2008 at 5:16 AM. January 23, 2008 at 9:02 AM. Just curious.how clo...

http://condaily.blogspot.com/2008/02/in-garden-of-gods.html
Con daily's photography blog. Monday, February 18, 2008. In the Garden of the Gods. A few days in the Colorado Springs area gave me the opportunity to photograph something different. Garden of the Gods is a free city park uplifted 25 million years ago and eroded to the present beautiful formations. I'd been there before, but never had time to explore all the trails and walkways. Posted by Con Daily. That's quite a name for a park to live up to! February 18, 2008 at 8:08 PM. February 20, 2008 at 5:33 PM.

Con daily's photography blog. Sunday, December 23, 2007. Battle Scarred Mule Deer. Posted by Con Daily. Seriously great photos, Con! He has such an interesting face, very different from our white-tail deer here in the east. I noticed that first, even before the ears. And the antlers have a very different look, too. Is that patch of dark, calloused-looking skin between the eyes and antlers typical of the breed? December 24, 2007 at 4:58 AM. December 24, 2007 at 8:12 AM. These are great photos! Other photo...

http://condaily.blogspot.com/2007/12/pigmy-nuthatch.html
Con daily's photography blog. Thursday, December 13, 2007. The little pygmy nuthatches have been trying to empty the feeders around my house this week. In the image above, one rests for a moment on the hook that holds the feeder. 1/1250 second at f/5.6, focal length 320mm, ISO 400. The pygmy nuthatch above is sorting seeds. He tosses the ones he doesn't want over his head as he searches for the black sunflower seeds he loves. I'll have to fill a feeder with only black sunflower seeds! Posted by Con Daily.

Con daily's photography blog. Saturday, October 13, 2007. Posted by Con Daily. Links to this post. Thursday, October 11, 2007. Mountain Mahogany's Feathery Seeds. Early morning sunlight highlights the feathery seeds of mountain mahogany, a common wild shrub. The feather tail on the seed curls when dry and straightens when wet. Once on the ground, the seed plants itself by curling and uncurling. Posted by Con Daily. Links to this post. Monday, October 1, 2007. Morning Moon over Lions Head. I and the bird.
