CHICK SCHWARTZ: CEDAR KEY ARTIST’ OPENS AT APPLETON, JAN. 19. OCALA, Fla.) Jan. 4, 2013 Ceramic sculptures that seem to emerge from the wall, found objects assembled into whimsical designs and colorful landscape paintings are among the 45 works presented in the exhibition Chick Schwartz: Cedar Key Artist opening Jan. 19 at the Appleton Museum of Art, College of Central Florida. While in the galleries, please maintain a distance of at least 12 inches from the artwork. Many of the works on display are very fragile and the oils in human skin can cause damage and slowly deteriorate the art. With your help, we can ensure that our works of art will educate and delight viewers for generations to come. Large items including purses, parcels, briefcases and backpacks which measure more than 11x15 inches, as well as umbrellas, must be checked at the front desk before entering the galleries.

The Appleton offers a variety of custom group tours, either self guided or led by a docent. Reserve group admission in advance to receive special group rates and bypass admission lines. The Appleton offers guided tours of special exhibitions, permanent collections and themed topics. The tours are conducted by a trained guide and last approximately one hour.
