Lochgorm ran at Carlisle on Saturday on the CD0GG club layout with a short train of HR stock, a fish truck, a covered van and a guards van. And very well she did too, not only by her smooth performance on the layout but also, with the help of the crew that Pete designed especially for her, winning the annual model competition. You’ll remember that after the Running Day in December I decided that the Jones Tank had to have some modifications to enable it to run in club layout conditions, I'd carried out the alterations and had high expectations. The Highland Line. . . . . . The Highland Main Line through the village of Blair Atholl first opened for traffic on the 9th of September 1863. The story starts however in 1860 when the prospectus for the Inverness to Perth railway was issued under the title of The Inverness and Perth Junction Railway The bill was approved by parliament on the 8th of March 1861 and the contract to build the section through Blair was awarded to Alexander Wilson and Sons on the 17th January 1862.
