Hugh made his first solo trip down to Madison today. He said it felt great. Having his family carting him around for the last several months was getting mighty old for him. His blood counts continue to climb. Platelets are normal now at 223! 8220;How far are you? 8221; he asked. 8220;Beaver Dam. I left at 8:00 as planned and should be there around 10:30”. Fighting MDS from diagnosis, to bone marrow transplant, and beyond. Follow Up Visit # 2 – December 3, 2013. Hugh was a little dehydrated and was given IV fluids again today. He lost 3 lbs. since last week. I reminded Hugh tonight that all he needs to do is eat more, drink more, get some exercise and a lot of rest. He agrees, that doesn’t sound so bad.
