By the end of our 35 miles we were both soaked through and through. We pulled into town and called around for a very cheap motel. The cheapest one we found was at the top of a very long hill. We started talking and it turns out that Jonathan was not just a fellow tourist but also a fellow foodie. In fact he owned a restaurant back in Smithville. One thing led to another and he invited us to go back into Smithville and treated for dinner at his restaurant. He also set us up to camp at his brother’s B and B. I've been getting some questions lately about the backgrounds I use, so I'll take a moment here to explain myself. First, I don't use compositing techniques to juxtapose the image of the bird into a "fake" background.
