Veien til et svar. Fredag 29. januar 2010. Ja, da nærmer det seg fortsettelse på eventyret. Etter at de mottok skjemaet fra meg, tok det akkurat 4 måneder før jeg fikk time. Denne ventetiden har vært veldig lang, må jeg innrømme. Nå er det ikke mange uker før jeg på nytt er i gang igjen. Det blir nok en lettelse å komme ut av vakum-bobla. Ser VIRKELIG frem til SVARET! Veien til et svar. Søndag 14. juni 2009. Jeg hadde sett for meg at det ble praktisk å ta det store steget høsten 2008. Det var overraskende vanskelig å bestille den første timen, men det var virkelig godt å komme i gang våren 2009. Legen visste ikke hvordan prosedyrene var for presymptomatisk testing. Jeg fikk beskjed om at det da først måtte sendes en søknad til Ullevål. Heldigvis tok det bare et par uker før jeg fikk ny time per post, og den ble overholdt. Genetisk veiledning - første time. Veien til et svar. Søndag 14. juni 2009. Mitt første "møte" med sykdommen var for 5 år siden. Et familiemedlem fikk diagnosen etter lang tid i uvisshet om hva som var i gjære etterhvert som symptomene kom. Huntington het sykdommen. Men det var ingen som visste hva det egentlig var. Etter mye leting på internett og en lånt film på universitetsbiblioteket, var man mer informert. Og ikke minst skremt. Dette er omstendig drøftet hjemme hos oss, og med full støtte fra min mann har jeg valgt å la meg teste.

Veien til et svar. Mandag 5. oktober 2009. I tre måneder har papirene fra sykehuset ligget halvveis utfylt. Det var så detaljert informasjon av hele min familie, at det tok motivasjonen fra meg i en hektisk sommer. Men i dag har jeg brukt tiden godt, og gjort det ferdig.
