I then walked down to other classroom and took photographs of how my students were adjusting to the new classroom setting and if they made any friends. Although the immersion only lasted three days, most of them enjoyed the friends they made in the school. The celebrations on Christmas Eve began at 4.30pm, but preparations started long before. The various class chairmen would clump together at the end of the corridor everyday from weeks before to plan this event. Then on the afternoon of the 22nd of December, everybody went to help prepare the two classrooms, Voyage and Victors for the celebrations. As the final event of the night, everyone received random gifts from everyone, ranging from colour pencils to jigsaw puzzles and hot water flasks. 2nd Day @ bsc.

Sunday, January 18, 2009. 2008年的十月份，知道被选中到北京浸濡时，第一个想到的就是能交到不同新的朋友。那时对北京的地方、历史、环境、还有其它的方面还是一知半解，但我却不知道即将要感受到一种新的体验。一个充满着奥运精神、世界一等都市之一的北京，等待着我的到来。很快的，40天在北京的经验像非一般的速度一样，很快地过去了。现在回到新加坡，这个非常有压力的教育制度下上课，觉得时间好像过得特别的慢。天天都怀念着在北京和朋友们在一起的美好时光、食物、街上走的行人、那又冷又干燥的气候，让我迫不及待很想在今年底再回到北京旅游。一来到北京就能感受到北京有多么注重和尊重他们自己的文化历史。北京机场从天上望下，就像一条龙。说明着当时人们在封建社会的密性，因为世上根本没有龙。来到的故宫、颐和园，能了解到当时的建筑物历史、皇帝的奢侈。没有一个古老建筑是用钉子建成的。以前在中国一定有和现在很不同的技术来建造房子。圆明园说明了当时清朝低俗了西方人们的火炮，坚决觉得他们的剑和马能打败西方人。只能说清朝固执。３．北京人们非常文明，懂得尊老爱幼。 Fion Goh Ser Yee. Sunday, January 11, 2009. 一边听着奥运歌曲《北京欢迎你》，一边写下这最后一篇博文. 还记得40天前，怀着兴奋、激动的心情踏上这片既熟悉又陌生的土地。寻常的40天？非比寻常的40天？40天里，我经历了许多人生当中个第一次。第一次离家在外那么久，第一次独立生活，第一次自己料理所有的一切。无数个的第一次使我学到了许多东西，获益匪浅。虽然我生在北京，但生命中几乎一半的时间是在新加坡度过的，可以说新加坡已是我的第二故乡。多年后，再次回到北京，再次回到北京学校的课堂，看到了中国的学生，让我看到了如果我留在中国，我的影子。这不禁不使我思考，假如我没有离开北京，我会得到什么？又会失去什么？动物园的熊猫馆和北海公园的红墙白塔唤起了我对北京的记忆，恢复原貌的前门大街和新兴鸟巢、水立方让我看到了正在急速变化中的北京。刚下飞机，那重重的儿化音一开始还让我听得还不太习惯，可过了几天后，我也满口“京片子”了。北京的马路基本上是横平竖直的，可以用“一望无际&...悠扬的歌声从脑海深处传来… ….
