Other than offering insights on people then view history and find meaning in history, do we buy into these SPHs? For me, the conclusion after taking this course, is a skeptical no. Looking at Francis Fukuyama, for example, his SPH has been challenged by Samuel Huntington and subsequently discredited by 911. So what does this mean to me as a historian?
