Some things we did/learnt: hammered mushrooms into logs with the kids, learnt the finer art of stacking wood, discovered preparing fields, planting wheat and sorting wheat (or beans) are not pleasurable tasks, brewed and bottled beer, and Hywel can start a great fire. After the amazing success of our first wwoof experience, we knew the bar had been set high. We also were realistic that anywhere else we went to visit would be unlikely to match the balance of challenging but rewarding work, delicious food, good company and our own space, that we had encountered when staying with Natsumi and Takeshi.
