Saturday in Anchorage was a mob scene. Media, politicians (Palin, Murkowski, etc.) fans, sponsors, volunteers. And did I mention the 67 dogs teams of 12 dogs each? Just another WordPress.com weblog. Laquo; Restart, Willow, Alaska, Sunday, March 6th. Dropped Dogs in Anchorage, Soreness on the Trail. In a park on 6th Ave. they display several “ice sculptures” made by artists for the “Fur Rondevous”, or “Fur Rondy”. Since the temperatures stay 32 degrees or below, the sculptures last outside. As you can see, after vet check, and eating, it is enjoying some sack time. While this and other dogs are snoozing, my fellow volunteers and I are hanging out in the balmy 10 or so degree evening. After stopping at the Conservation Center, I decided to drive further south on the Seward Hwy, down the Kenai Peninsula to the town of Seward. Seward is known for its commercial fishing industry.
