Paul Johnson-Jovanovic: Dark Fiction Writer. Wednesday, 2 November 2011. Thought I'd try my hand at blogging again. I shall try and post every month, if I get time. Oh well, here goes nothing . I recently had a story accepted by Dark Moon Digest for their Frightmare's Flash Fiction anthology. The winners of the competition are still to be announced, so I don't know whether I made the top 4 (a frickin' $100 first prize = fingers crossed! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Useful sites for writers.

Kneading Words: Spring has sprung!
http://erinstocks.blogspot.com/2011/04/spring-is-sprung.html
Where I ramble on about writing and reading speculative fiction, baking and cooking, and anything else that strikes me. Wednesday, April 20, 2011. That's right, tax hell is OVER. And I have no more excuses, which is why I'm working through the next revision chapter of Harvester the book (funny how much someone wanting to be a beta reader pushes you off the couch - thank you, Wendy. I so owe you), proofing Lightspeed. Go read Tom Crosshill's " Mama, We are Zhenya, Your Son. Assures me is worth it.) Ve...

Where I ramble on about writing and reading speculative fiction, baking and cooking, and anything else that strikes me. Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Belief creates the actual fact." - William James. I meant to dither on about "Slobby Noes" a few days ago, the Veganomicon. Recipe with lentils instead of meat, but I forgot, and then didn't take pictures, either. But highly, highly recommended. Lentils are seriously a wonder food. If you do them right. Although Beris, my undead shadow priest, is pretty decked out.

Where I ramble on about writing and reading speculative fiction, baking and cooking, and anything else that strikes me. Thursday, April 21, 2011. Welcome to the Greenhouse review. I've subscribed to Fantasy and Science Fiction Magazine. Hits you with all its got, in a completely new direction. Or, I'm great if the direction is predictable, but there's an emotional bang for the buck. (Take, for instance, a story I commented on a few blogs back, in Strahan's Best of SFF Volume 5. Also, from Black Static.

Archived Posts from this Category. June 11, 2012. Any day now…. Posted by Erin Stocks under Baby J. If I don’t update with something, I probably won’t until post-baby, and who knows what’s that’s going to be like (aside from everything I’ve read and been told…). So here I am, with a few paragraphs. 38 weeks tomorrow, and J was full term (technically) last week, so I’ve been waiting impatiently, doing whatever I can to encourage her that. Is the time for her to take action. Yesterday, I even mowed. Exhaus...

Archived Posts from this Category. February 14, 2013. Hiatus, break, absent, etc. Posted by Erin Stocks under Baby J. Not sure. I’ve been meaning to hop on here forever, but don’t I always? Maybe I can work myself back up to semi-regular posting, little by little. Although I’m in the throes of tax season at work, and at home, kept so completely busy by an almost 8-month-old, which doesn’t even make sense to me. Wasn’t I just pregnant? How is she this old? The issue can be purchased here. October 18, 2012.

Posted by Erin Stocks under Baby J. So in all the tax madness and third trimester (! This weekend, some much needed writing time; I want to clean up “Grotto of the Helpless,” the Clarion week 4 story, but every time I open it I feel like I’m avoiding Harvester the book. So we’ll see what happens. Also had my 7-month appointment this week!
