Section 508 is the 1998 amendment to the Rehabilitation Act, requiring Federal agencies to ensure that information technology is accessible to persons with disabilities. The Internet, computers, software, telecommunications and multimedia saturate our daily lives. Access to that information technology is no longer a luxury but a necessity. People are welcome to bring any issues they feel are important to the attention of our Advocacy team. The advocacy team meets on the first Monday of the month from 1:00 3:00 pm at ILR. Using the self-help model, people with disabilities work together with ILR's peer counselors to explore options and to solve problems. To go to our Support page to mail us donations!

Just a moment in time. Started Mobility Training and other news. Apr 4th, 2008 at 9:18 PM. Today was my first day of mobility training. I guess I should back up a step and say that I went to the intake appointment with the Independent Living Resources. In future lessons we will work on things like when being guided, how to go through a narrow space and up/down stairs properly. It was just a first day, but while I didn't want to use the cane it is hard to say it didn't help. 2 comments Leave a comment.
