On January 30th we shipped a 40 foot high cube container to Duside Hospital. Firestone has funded the shipment and our colleagues at Project SAVE have provided hundreds of boxes of soft goods and storage facilities for staging the load. A donated x-ray suite is at the heart of this shipment. In June, our director was able to travel to Liberia and work with the folks at Duside Hospital to install the x-ray equipment and get it operational. Or 501(c)3 status is official! How it all began. On a surgical mission. Trip to Liberia with Children's Surgery International. In that regard, he approached the president of Firestone Natural Rubber. All this equipment came from storage facilities at US hospitals. In all cases, the equipment had been taken out of service and was being stored, awaiting final disposition.
