Imperfectly Multilingual

Or tales of a semi-competent half-French mum attempting to pass on her mother's tongue to her half-Kiwi child, with occasional dallies into Spanish (thanks be to Dora), Maori (the "other" language in this bilingual country), and anything else we come across. Tuesday, 5 April 2011. What what DO we do? So here is what does actually happen, and it probably won't seem like a lot. Um. basically, odds and sods. The usual suspects: "s'il te plaît", "merci", "bonjour", "au revoir", "bonne nuit". Dors bien" becam...

Or tales of a semi-competent half-French mum attempting to pass on her mother's tongue to her half-Kiwi child, with occasional dallies into Spanish (thanks be to Dora), Maori (the "other" language in this bilingual country), and anything else we come across. Monday, 28 March 2011. Hello, bonjour, kia ora :). I'm not quite sure what I'm going to write about here, but I'm sure we'll work it out somewhere a long the way - feel free to suggest a topic, or ask! I shall start by introducing my little family.

imperfectlyloved | Half full or half empty? Perspective & mindset. Which one are you?

Half full or half empty? Perspective and mindset. Which one are you? Update on July – so far. I welcomed July with a plethora of ACCA lessons. Okay, maybe not the right word to describe but who cares? There was initially supposed to be a planned trip to Hokkaido with a friend, but he cancelled at the last minute, so I decided to push up my Scoot ticket to Taipei (originally scheduled for December) and therefore, I’ll be going to Taiwan again next month! Its still going to take me around 5 to 6 hours on p...

Imperfectly Lovely Bunnies and Bears. Who need a home. Recycled and upknitted where possible. Tuesday, April 14, 2015. This being a blog, I cannot set up website type shopping facilities.however should you wish to buy. Email me about the knitty you wish to have and I can then inform you if one is ready or needs to be made up. Once this is agreed upon, we can sort out delivery details and bank account details for an online transference. Ivano Vitali knitting with recycled paper. Sunday, December 14, 2014.

That the power play goes on. August 12, 2014. That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse…. Without a doubt Robin Williams contributed a verse in our powerful play. But now, without him, we must contribute our own as the play goes on. How fortunate are we to have so many of his characters and comic genius recorded to both relive and share with future generations? And in the end, he made one bad decision too many, and left us. Sunday, 16 August 2015. Vegan Birthday BBQ on the beach. Last weekend we visited my family in the Gower in South Wales. We had some beautiful weather for my sisters birthday on the beach. She is vegan too so the BBQ was 100% vegan and delicious. I am lucky enough to have two sisters, my other sister made this fab birthday bunting which was hung on some rocks. Some blankets spread out by the rocks set out our little area. Me with my other sister. What's a summer BBQ without Pimms? Me and my lovely mum,.
