Our India Adoption Journey. It is Saturday night and after so many unknown hours of plane rides and airports we are here! 8221; And she waved vigorously saying “hey friends”. Of course everyone waved back and just smiled big smiles. Like i thought they were hawks or some big bird until one flew in the tree next to us and hung upside down. And we looked at one of the infamous houseboats of Kerala that was docked at the edge of the river. Arabelle eating aKrispy Kreme doughnut at the airport in Dubai.

Our India Adoption Journey. Please pray that we will be united with our little girl soon! We have been waiting for her passport for weeks and found out today that they have not even been able to apply for it yet due to some political strikes in the area. We just want to be with her and bring her home so badly. There’s still a small chance she could be home with us by Christmas…praying for that small chance. Pray with us please! Questions and Answers (2). What I’m Reading and Recently Read.

Our India Adoption Journey. At long last…. Our personal attempt at a family photo. I have better ones that need uploaded from the camera of course. It is Saturday night and after so many unknown hours of plane rides and airports we are here! 8221; And she waved vigorously saying “hey friends”. Of course everyone waved back and just smiled big smiles. Right now it’s still surreal. Tomorrow afternoon we meet our sweet girl for the first time! http://hopingforhaddie.blogspot.com/2015/01/travel-dates-and-big-prayer-request.html
Wednesday, January 7, 2015. Travel Dates and a BIG Prayer Request. I can't believe I am saying this but we got a call on Monday and learned that the orphanage finally has our daughter's passport which means we now have tentative travel dates. We are so close guys! January 7, 2015 at 10:55 AM. Adding my prayers every morning from now until you travel (and beyond). January 7, 2015 at 12:10 PM. Just adore that picture, by the way.). January 7, 2015 at 3:21 PM. india to appleton: March 2014
http://indiatoappleton.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 22, 2014. How we're doing after two months. Yikes - I haven't posted for a whole month! I guess that tells you a little bit about how things are going . . . I feel like I rarely have two hands free to type on our laptop. We finally had a day warm enough to play outside. Dry bathing - everyone needs a hobby, right? This continues to be one area of difficulty. She is extremely picky about food, and still seems to be controlling all the newness by refusing lots of food. Or she might ...About...
india to appleton: May 2014
http://indiatoappleton.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 10, 2014. We don't have any photos of our girls' first mothers. We will likely never have the chance to communicate with them either. But we are so indebted to them for the gift of our daughters. In the complex swirl of factors that cause a woman to make an agonizing, heart-rending choice, somehow we have ended up as the beneficiaries of their difficult or painful circumstances. I think of Pinki, the young ayah who cried as we prepared to take Anya Rashi away from the orphanage. And of ...

Monday, July 14, 2014. Your last night as a two-year-old! On this, your last night as a two-year-old, there are many things on my mind. I wish we hadn't missed out on so much of your life so far, even while I'm grateful for all the moments of the past 6 months. And I'm even more grateful that we get to spend this birthday with you! Here is a snapshot of life with you:. Your hair is longer, and your curls are extra fluffy in these humid months. Your favorite books are The Snowy Day, Kipper's Color and Num...
india to appleton: November 2013
http://indiatoappleton.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 21, 2013. I got the 'no passport' blues. If I were more musically inclined, I'd be sitting at the piano writing the song I've been singing for the past week: "The No Passport Blues.". Here's what we know: our RIPA director e-mailed to say that she would be applying for the passport during the week of Sept. 4. It would be kind of amazing to be back in India at the same time we traveled for our first daughter. (Which was Dec. 6-16). But we would be happy if it came before then. And I did...
india to appleton: June 2014
http://indiatoappleton.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 16, 2014. Her first family trip. We spent last week in beautiful Door County, Wisconsin. Our kids have taken day trips to the beaches there, Peter and I spent a few getaway weekends before we had children, and I've camped there with my sister. But this time was special, because the kids got to see some of the most beautiful parts of the Midwest - and it was the first family trip we've taken with Kavya. And clap her hands together to try and kill mosquitos. :o). We were staying in a cozy cond...
india to appleton: January 2015
http://indiatoappleton.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 9, 2015. The first year of forever. Today was a bitterly cold day in our city, and it is a frigid -1 (Fahrenheit) as I type this. But last year - last year was warm. Not here, where the polar vortex was in full swing. But in a little city outside Bangalore, India, it was in the 80s. In that little city, our hearts were also warmed by the sight of this little face:. It seems impossible, but somehow, we have spent an entire year together already! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The four of them.

Monday, October 28, 2013. The "four timers" club. As of tomorrow, we will join that elite group in the adoption world known as the "Four Timers Club." If you haven't heard of it, it's because we are a small, exclusive group - and we sincerely hope you will never have to join us! We did receive an e-mail from our orphanage today containing our court documents, and it included a beautiful new (to us) photo of Kavya! Tuesday, October 15, 2013. No passport, but good news from Show Hope! What a thrill to be r...
india to appleton: She turns 4
http://indiatoappleton.blogspot.com/2015/07/she-turns-4.html
Wednesday, July 15, 2015. We can hardly believe you're turning four, Kavya. We want to be able to look back and remember the daily details about you at this age . . . You are such a sparkplug! You are so smart! You've been in gymnastics for a month, and it's hysterical to watch you bounce and fidget while you wait your turn. You've made great strides already in patience and focus; after four weeks, you don't veer off and dive into the foam pit like you did the first day! You adore your big brothers and s...

India Adoption Journey
Thursday, October 10, 2013. I was shocked that the placement agency I had selected suddenly shut down their India program. Our India Adoption Journey | The Brown Family
Our India Adoption Journey. Two Months, a Birthday, and Tee Ball. We have been home now for two months as of yesterday. I guess somewhere between week 6-8 English just erupted ten-fold. We now have many complete sentences such as “Can I try? 8221;, “Arabelle pushed me”, “Are you ok? 8221;, and her go-to when she has nothing else to say “What are you doing? Sunday was Anjali’s 3rd birthday! She was so excited. For about 5 days all we heard was “Anju Happy Birthday? Pictures of all of the above below….

Thru Christ and with Faith alone. Our family will be blessed by a precious child from across the sea! How You Can Help. Many Hearts, One Family. I started this blog to write about our Ind*a adoption, but the reality of it is that we are also foster parents.
