On this tour we are in search of lights! While we are based in London for Christmas (and the Boxing Day sales) we are off to the city of lights, beautiful Paris for New Years Eve and later in the tour we venture off to Tromso, Norway in search of the northern lights (or 'aurora borealis' to be more scientific) inside the Arctic Circle. EuroPhloss - Louise and Phil on Tour 2008/09. Wednesday, December 31, 2008. Boxing Day to Hogmanay! A beautiful, clear day in Saas-Fee. We had three goals for the day. 1 Successfully negotiate the many winding paths through the village to find the beautiful stone bridge over a running stream we had seen from the gondola yesterday. 2 Go for a snow walk in the mountains. 3 Build a snowman. First up was to make our way to the Mariinsky Theatre again for a matinee performance of The Nutcracker. It’s quite a long, but very beautiful walk from the Metro station to the theatre, but this morning we took our time and enjoyed the sights.
