Labour law, while used interchangeably with employment law, is very different. The Labour Law relationship is tripartite, i.e., it involves the employer, employee and trade unions. This relationship, referred to as industrial relations is extremely difficult to manage and is a legal minefield. Due to the fact that employers are at a disadvantage in this area, there is an added focus to protect employers.
