The Migration

http://www.ineveryleaf.com/migration.html

In a search for ancestors, it's important to understand the patterns of migration to and within the New World. Not only does this understanding provide geographical clues to aide our search, but it brings a deeper understanding and appreciation not only for how and why they settled the areas they did, but an understanding and appreciation for the lives they led. My maternal ancestors came from England, Ireland and Scotland. Let's begin our study of migration with "The Beginning"! Now, I'm sure you realiz...

Research Disclosure

http://www.ineveryleaf.com/disclosure.html

Of particular note is the work done by Henry B. Brackin Jr., M.D. in his The Akers and Blackburn Families. His committment to solid and verified research has been a tremendous resource and help to me, particularly in sorting through the complicated minglings of the Akers and Blackburn families. The reader will find Dr. Brackin's work cited numerous times throughout this site.

The Families

Kennedy, Kimborough, Little,. Peed, Ray/Rhea,. Tuten, Tye and my husband's McElhannon family. My genealogical efforts center around my maternal grandparents, Samuel McKinley Akers. Pictures of McKinley Akers, Melissa Little and some of their children. As commonly found in geneological research, the two major branches do join each other in several places and I have attempted to explain these as I've painstakingly sorted them out, with much assistance from the work of others before me! You will notice a nu...

About the Title

http://www.ineveryleaf.com/title.html

My initial motivation to begin genealogical research was, like most genealogists, to discover what I could about my ancestors. Within a very short time, I experienced the excitement, frustration, and addictive aspects of the hobby. I began to develop a curiosity about and even feelings of affection for these from the past whose genetic code I share. After some years, I began to feel the "stirrings" of an additional. I enjoy many rewards from the work I do with my roots. But it is for my leaves.

In Every Little Moment

1 month old Penny. Penny Mae, 8/26/14. About 2.5 years later, here is my birth story for our PMA, Penny Mae. Better late than never, right? 2 days before my 28. Birthday and about 3 weeks before Penny’s due date. I was uncomfortable all day and was having Braxton hicks contractions. Vic was getting ready to head out to a show to see Murder City Devils and I was pacing back and forth. Nervous. All I could think was, what if I go into labor tonight and he’s at a concert! Penny Mae was born on August 26.

Most recent is Elsa's refusal to bless Anna's engagement to Prince Hans. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." - 1 Corinthians 13:7. It would make ...
