The Other Side: October 2011

http://infertilityadventure.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

Tuesday, October 4, 2011. And They Lived Happily Ever After. I may post again in this space, I may not, but I thought there should be at least some kind of update. Especially for those who might be considering egg donation and wondering how they might adjust in the long term. Well, next term or medium term might be a better phrase. Well, I tried. One interesting moment recently came up when (I am assuming) LB noticed how often LBII was said to look like her father. LB said, "Mommy, I look like you an...

The Other Side: Things To Say

http://infertilityadventure.blogspot.com/2010/12/things-to-say.html

Monday, December 13, 2010. I've got them, believe it or not. I have thoughts I want to share on being a donor egg mom, about remembering to live in the moment, about continuing to heal from IF hell, about how excited I am that the IRL support group I host has been able to expand to include a primary infertility only meeting, even some thoughts on parenting in general. But what I have time for is this:. When I am in charge, I will make it so. So good to hear from you! December 13, 2010 at 1:43 PM. Decembe...

The Other Side: Finding Balance

http://infertilityadventure.blogspot.com/2011/02/finding-balance.html

Friday, February 4, 2011. I was dying in the dessert for lack of water. I longed with my whole being to quench my thirst. I dreamed of the day when my need would be fulfilled. I hoped again and again and survived disappointment when the water proved to be a mirage. Now I am drinking from a fire hose. How is that for balance? More like feast or famine. It is crazy how life works. Finding balance can be difficult sometimes but in those moments you do, it can be very sweet. Sorry about Brads mom. Hot Mama B...

Monday, October 26, 2009. Taking Care of Baby. DH and I took a drive to NJ this weekend to attend a Baby Care class. It was given by the leader of our adoption support group. The best thing about it was no pregnant bellies! We had quite a few laughs and learned alot. It was a good way to pass the time because this waiting sure does suck! Posted by Working Girl. http://barrenbythebay.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

Monday, October 20, 2008. So over a month ago, the day before my 42nd birthday, my RE transfered four thawed embryos into my uterus. It was the four from my IVF #3 in May. My RE and embryologist both agreed these four were better than the four I have from IVF #2. Two weeks ago, my therapist left me with a question to ponder. How much loss can you bear? It gave me alot to think about. Posted by Working Girl. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). BARREN BY THE BAY. Lilypie First Birthday tickers.

Monday, November 15, 2010. January 23, 2010. I want to end this blog on a very positive note. On September 17, 2010, my son was born. A birth mom selected my husband and me in late July. We met her in August and were able to share several outings with her before our baby was born 10 days early. She is an amazing young woman. And he was certainly worth the wait. Happy New Year to you! Please do not give up on your dream to parent. It is amazing! Posted by Working Girl. Links to this post. BARREN BY THE BAY.

BARREN BY THE BAY: Cruising

http://barrenbythebay.blogspot.com/2009/08/cruising.html

Tuesday, August 18, 2009. No, I haven't been trolling bars for a new man! DH and I are off on a cruise vacation this Saturday. (Of course, Hurricane Bill is blowing into the area). We are headed to New England and Canada from NYC. We planned for it in May and can't believe it's time to leave already. Here is a picture if the bridge looking toward the island I call home. I live on the bay along the left side of the picture (but not anywhere near the bridge):. Here it is at night:. Posted by Working Girl.

Sunday, April 05, 2009. Domestic newborn open adoption it is! I am excited and terrified all at once. I choose adoption over donor eggs mostly because my family is very open to adoption already. My niece K was placed in my sister's arms 12 years ago in a semi-open adoption. I will only have to minimally educate my family and friends about the process of open adoption. I had alot of unresolved issues with DE and I am giving myself the option to explore it again once I become a mom. Posted by Working Girl.

Monday, July 20, 2009. The title of this post is the date Mr. G and I officially became waiting parents with our agency! I am so excited to finally be paper pregnant! My family and friends, those that know, keep asking when I will be matched. I just keep answering. I pray it is sooner but, it is completely out of my control. I should be use to that state of mind by now, but I am not. Thankfully, my group and the blog community will help me! Posted by Working Girl. Congratulations on your paper pregnancy!

Sunday, June 08, 2008. Phewit has been a long time because honestly, I have had nothing to say. To anyone. I have just been internalizing all that has happened to me. The miscarriage is over and I managed the pain well. Self-protection is the phrase of the day! We had our follow up visit with the RE. This miscarriage was also chromosomal - Trisomy 4. He knows of no live birth with this abnormality. We discussed our next step which is FET. The RE also mentioned.wait for it. I will post more details later!

Wednesday, December 03, 2008. The day after Thanksgiving, Mr. G and I received our first Christmas card. It was from my husband's former co-worker T. She is the gal that hooked us up with our current RE. The only doctor to ever give us a real chance to try for a baby. She got pregnant a few weeks after me last year. Unfortunately, I had a miscarriage. And, why T and not me? We both endured the same grueling procedure. Why was I the unlucky one? Why is she better than me? Posted by Working Girl. Stirrup Q...
