Tropeungchuk, kg thom - 40 years back to the past. When traveling from Phnom Penh to here, paddy fields are everywhere. It stretches and stretch farther more than the eye can see. You'd think that it makes for a monotonous view but it does not. The roads are clear, there are not that many cars and vans and lorries. There are lots of motorcyclists however, though I'm pretty those are just villagers moving about in between their respective village. All the terrains must be levelled, and a good network of p...

Dumyat and Ras El Bar: A Turtle and Millions of Cockles. Dumyat and Ras El Bar, 2 fishing towns in very close proximity to each other, so close that you just have to visit both. In Egypt, another twin cities. Are Cairo and Giza, but those 2 are very large cities. Very busy and congested. These 2 however are more relaxed, a retreat site of sort for people who wishes to escape from the busyness of Cairo and the touristy nature of Alexandria. Here in front of Istad Gamaah there were 2 kids leisuring around ...

Yearbook 04: March and Red. My answer differs every time I was asked what my favourite color is. The truth is my favourite color is red. I have met someone who said that his favourite color is vermillion. What color is vermillion anyway. It is all very confusing really. Interestingly, there's a famous French painter named Claude Monet. Whose able to see colors beyond what the human eyes can normally see. This happened after he had done surgery to remove the cataract in his right eye. The lens of ...They ...

Life at the farm. It was 3.57 AM on the third day of Ramadhan. Received a text from a good friend of mine Hanif Malek that he will be arriving in Muar soon. I promised him the day before that I'll fetch him at the bus stop, never would I imagine that it would be this early. Normally a bus trip from Terengganu to Muar will arrive around 5.30 to 6.00 AM. My head is all groggy from the lack of sleep but I washed my face, took the car key and off I went to the bus stop. Later he called and asked me to fetch ...

Darul takzim fc vs perak. I attended the match between Darul Takzim FC and Perak last night. Darul Takzim FC is of course formerly known as Johor FC. Ever since the club had been taken over by PBNJ. There has been a football revival of sorts amongst the Johorians. I mean look at this. This is unseen of before. I can't wait to see how it looks like inside the stadium. The locals regard them as Malaysia's own Manchester City in terms of budget and spending power. Excitement is in the air. I can feel it.

REVIEW: Sony RX100 Camera. One year ago, Sony released the RX100. The camera had glowing reviews by professional photographers and critics alike. I had the chance to use the Sony RX100 for a few days and this post will be my opinion on it. The RX100 is Sony's take on the high end Point and Shoot (P&S) market, an area where P&S camera makers can still make a healthy profit. The P&S market had shrunken considerably over the years due to the advent of smart phones. The German company recently announced that...

Morning came. The night before was cold, not wintry cold but rather formal. Not enough to make me shiver but the type that just makes you want to sleep underneath a blanket all day. I sat by the stairs, next to Abang Syafie and to me this was the perfect view to welcome a new day. This really reminded me of my village. But I do know that construction materials in this country are astronomically expensive. In turn it makes sense that the mosque I’m visiting is still up to this day unfinished. When he was ...

Yearbook 05: April the Stargazer. Cosmology fascinates me, in fact my blog name derives from a very famous photo called the Pale Blue Dot, taken by the spacecraft Voyager 1. I remember calling bollocks on all these constellation stuff until I learned about light pollution. And that is only scratching the surface of astrology, do you know that the massive planet Jupiter acts as the vacuum cleaner of the solar system? These complexities of God makes for an interesting topic to dwell into, because much too ...

The Greek Parthenon The Olympus Twelve. The ancient Greeks accepted these myths as part of their history. They used these lores to explain natural phenomenon, cultural activities, living habits - and to ascend the reputation of their leaders by linking their lineage to those of heroes and immortals in these stories. Sets into motion an upheaval by the younger immortals named the Olympians, lead by Zeus. This new age was known as the Silver age. The Parthenon is one of the symbols of western civilisation.
