The A660 Joint Council was established in 1973 to campaign against proposals for a Headingley Bypass which would have torn the heart out of Headingley. We believe that the proposed trolley bus system is not the right transport system to meet the needs and aspirations of a modern city, especially given the physical characteristics of the A660 corridor. Support all alternatives to the trolleybus which would provide modern and efficient public transport, which are acceptable to all the communities along the A660, and which would not be damaging to the environment.
