The path to becoming a skydiver! Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Too Cold for Skydiving? November 16, 2011. Well it’s been over a month now since my last skydive, AFF Level 6, which I need to do again since I messed up the tracking a bit. I’m gonna aim for Sunday to get up there, and hopefully get AFF Levels 6 and 7 out the way, would be great to get my first consolidation/consol jump in too. This entry was posted in Skydives.

The path to becoming a skydiver! Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Fantastic Weather for Skydiving. September 29, 2011. Well with the crazy weather we’re having at the minute, I had to take a couple of days off work to head to the DZ and see about getting some more skydives in. Clearly a few people had the same idea, bit busier than normal on a weekday (I think). Today I was all guns blazin’! 1 practice pull before the free-time, in which I dinked one of the instructors on the head and ...

The path to becoming a skydiver! Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. September 16, 2011. I was supposed to be snowboarding with my girlfriend today at Hemel Hempstead, but unfortunately she twisted her ankle so we called it off. Since I already had the day booked off work, I headed to the drop zone instead. The weather yesterday was perfect for skydiving, so I was hopeful about getting my first skydive in today. At that time the weather was decent enough to get a plane up, unfortunately s...

The path to becoming a skydiver! Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. October 3, 2011. After a good couple of skydives on Thursday (Levels 3 and 4) I headed back to the DZ on Sunday to hopefully finish my AFF jumps. We were in a different plane this time, with a taller door, so we’re stood up a bit more, and easier to actually jump from – usually we’re squatting a bit. And now onto my AFF Level 6 skydive, a backflip, followed by some James Bond style tracking across the sky. The briefi...

The path to becoming a skydiver! Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. AFF Level 2 Complete. September 25, 2011. Headed down to the drop zone yesterday, on the promise of decent weather, the winds were calm, but there was a certain level of cloud at 5,000ft, not very good if a student opens their canopy in a cloud and can’t see which direction to head in. Unfortunately for me, it ended up being another day sat around chatting waiting for the cloud to clear. 8221;, then “Out”, &#...Check hea...

The path to becoming a skydiver! Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Weekend weather looking good. September 23, 2011. Looking like some light wind and sunny spells tomorrow so should get a few skydives in, not sure how many I could safely manage to be honest, after my first jump last week I needed a stiff drink and a good sit down! Getting to the stage of them letting go of me, and then jumping out with just one instructor is going to be a bit mental. After my first jump I was convinced ...

The path to becoming a skydiver! Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Addicted to the weather. September 22, 2011. Even when there’s no chance of me skydiving on a given day (work is usually the limiting factor here), I can be caught staring out the window wishing I was at the drop zone, wishing I could analyse the weather like a mad man. The missus has had to remind me on plenty of occasions already “you’re not even jumping today! I recently asked around on the UK Skydiver Forum.
