Our Piece of the Puzzle. Our family and how we fit into the big puzzle of life. Monday, March 24, 2014. Feed My Starving Children. This past Saturday morning Jason, Amelia and I volunteered through an organization called Feed My Starving Children. Every month Target is involved in different volunteering events and this is the first one that we have participated in! Our task was packing and boxing up MannaPack Rice. She took a break in the lobby briefly but she came back in and helped finish up the job!

http://joyfuladorations.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 28, 2014. On Thursday evening we hosted a get together with friends. It was a really fun evening! All the kids had a great time swinging! I pushed them for about 20 minutes - quite a workout! Lily almost has "pumping" figured out, but her legs still get tired. At a concert - it's been literally years since we've done that since Jacob is normally playing or conducting! I love these marigolds in our garden. They are so vibrant. Monday, July 14, 2014. While Daddy was gone. Jacob and his dad had...

Learning The Simple Life: October 2012
http://learningthesimplelife.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Learning The Simple Life. Tuesday, October 16, 2012. Ingredients: Apple, Sugar, Cinnamon (sugar and cinnamon optional). Cook Time: 6-8 hours at 170-200 degrees. You may peel the apples if you wish. It won't really make a difference. I use a peeler/slicer, so it peels them automatically as it cores and slices. This gadget it awesome! It saves a lot of time in the kitchen with apples and potatos. The one I have is a lot like this. I usually do about half with sugar/cinnamon and half without anything. Place...

http://learningthesimplelife.blogspot.com/2013/05/companion-planting-and-square-foot.html
Learning The Simple Life. Wednesday, May 1, 2013. Companion Planting and Square Foot Gardening. It's that time of year again. Time to get all those glorious, life giving, seeds in the ground. I'm taking a new approach to gardening this year. In years past, I have kept a garden mostly for hobby and because I love to see things grow and live. I've always enjoyed testing new plants. Can I grow this from a seed? I wonder if this will grow in my climate? Yeah eventually I just gave up! Homestead Barn Hop 110.

Learning The Simple Life. Tuesday, April 23, 2013. The Onion Project - Growing from scraps. 1 After the leaves started growing well. I removed the onions from the plastic baggies they were in. 2 I removed all of the skins from the bulb, being careful not to tear any roots off.. 3 After finding that one of the onions had 2 bulbs, I separated these bulbs using a paring knife. Being careful again not to damage any roots.. This post is linked up to. The Backyard Farming Connection Hop 29.
