The demand is always high for peaches, and even more for organic peaches. Palisade peaches from First Fruits, Paonia. My favorite spice shop in Boulder. Tha...

Appetite for Self-Destruction: A crazy week -- with bonus Jello!
http://steveknopper.blogspot.com/2009/01/crazy-week-with-bonus-jello.html
Saturday, January 10, 2009. A crazy week - with bonus Jello! Last week was one of the most ridiculous weeks I've ever had. Tuesday alone, when Appetite for Self-Destruction. Came out, I did 11 interviews, beginning with this interview on 9News in Denver (sorry it starts automatically; I had some trouble with that 9News video site). I had to arrive at 4:50 am:. Also that day I had a wide-ranging talk with mercurial radio host Jay Marvin. And Rob Harvilla's Q&A in the Village Voice. She's OK, and so is the...

http://boulderifs.blogspot.com/2013/11/who-knew-peter-cushings-hair-was-so.html
Tuesday, November 12, 2013. Who Knew Christopher Lee's Hair Was so Awesome? I recently got to see the 1973 British horror film The Wicker Man. On the Big Screen. It had been on my radar for a long time, what with my unnatural love of early 70s transgressive films. In a nutshell, a Scotts police sergeant (a pre- Breaker Morant. The premise “how would it be if a small community never accepted Christianity, but kept their old Celtic gods? He’s gotta go. But The Wicker Man. Christopher Lee has said that this...

IFS Blog: And the Winner Is...
http://boulderifs.blogspot.com/2013/10/and-winner-is.html
Tuesday, October 22, 2013. And the Winner Is. Steve McQueen's newest film 12 Years a Slave. Is going to win big at the next Academy Awards. It's an amazing, gut-wrenching film, and doesn't pull any punches by portraying slavery as pure misery, punctuated by sadism, violence, and cruelty. I looked around the theater from time to time and saw people with their heads in their hands. During some of the more horrific scenes, other patrons walked out. 12 Years a Slave. NOTES FROM THE IFS DESK. And the Winner Is.
