Monthly Archives: August 2007. August 27, 2007 · 11:41 pm. When I first saw Srila Prabhupada was the first time I saw reality, because this was the first real person that I ever saw, because he was the first person who knew who he was. His Grace Gokula Ranjana Prabhu describing the first time he ever saw Srila Prabhupada, narrated at the 2005 Srila Prabhupada disciples reunion in Sri Dham Mayapur. Comments Off on Reality. That holy place… | Interrupted Love

August 13, 2007 · 6:56 pm. That holy place…. I had been trying to practice Krishna Consciousness for approximately one year when, by the divine arrangement of Sri Krishna, I went to Oxford Brookes University (no, it’s not part of Oxford University, but yes, it is in Oxford) to study for my BSc. During the first week I was in Oxford I managed to contact, and meet, the devotees who lived there. Unknown to me, from that very first moment I met the devotees, my University life would be anything but usual.

Monthly Archives: June 2007. June 28, 2007 · 12:58 pm. Changing of the guard. Yesterday was a pretty significant day in the history of British politics. Tony Blair, Prime Minister for just over 10 years finally stepped down, allowing the Chancellor, Gordon Brown, to take over. In ISKCON we have our own ceremonies that are accompanied by great pomp and grandeur from bathing of the deities to someone receiving initiation into the. With the case of British politics and the monarchy, the underlying reason fo...

Monthly Archives: March 2007. March 29, 2007 · 10:45 am. I spend a lot of time online. Some productive, some not-so productive. On my travels I have found some good sites. Below are some sites I visit when I just need “a good laugh”:. Homestarrunner.com ( www.homestarrunner.com. 8211; My all-time favourite website. I could probably watch the animations on this site all day and not get bored. These three are some of my favs: 1. White Ninja Comics – ( www.whiteninjacomics.com. Hunny, I’m back! For those wh...
End of the End | Interrupted Love

Changing of the guard. 01:34 to Milton Keynes Central →. July 6, 2007 · 12:41 pm. End of the End. Last night, after returning home from work, I had to deal with two deaths. Death #1 was a wasp on the floor of my bedroom near the window. How it got into the room I am unsure of, as my windows were closed all day. Death #2 was a moth, again on the floor of my room, next to the bed. I guess they paid off their karma in those bodies and have now moved up the reincarnation evolutionary cycle. No reason to cry.

Adventures in Humility: September 2005
http://gaurasundara.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
News, Views, and Chews on spiritual issues. Wednesday, September 28, 2005. My friend Madhava has an excellent line in humour. I find a lot of his jokes and sarcasm extremely funny, and it often has me rolling in fits of laughter. Sometimes his jokes are way above my head and which I suppose only pundits can understand, which shows his level of knowledge. I checked their ID cards. There was a field right below "Nationality" for "Tattva", and it said "Vishnu" there. Posted by "Gaurasundara das" @ 04:02.

News, Views, and Chews on spiritual issues. Thursday, October 27, 2005. Having downloaded an internet copy of Sri Jiva Gosvami's Krishna-sandarbha, I've skimmed across the first anuccheda or so without having time to read it carefully. As far as I can see, Sri Jiva begins by explaining the supremacy of 'Bhagavan'. I assume that later on he will argue that Krishna is identical with Bhagavan, and that this is the foundation for the GV doctrine of Krishna's supremacy. Posted by "Gaurasundara das" @ 02:36.

News, Views, and Chews on spiritual issues. Saturday, February 11, 2006. Some of you have been asking to see a picture of my guitar. It's an acoustic guitar, not an electric one. Here is a picture of it:. Posted by "Gaurasundara das" @ 03:44. Friday, February 10, 2006. One of my most favourite days of the year! I hadn't taken a few snaps before the pujari plonked an arati tray right next to me on top of the money box. I couldn't believe it! I couldn't believe my luck! This is what I call GRACE! You have ...

News, Views, and Chews on spiritual issues. Monday, January 30, 2006. Gaudiya Discussions has now shut down, thanks to the sinister presence of very. Undesirable elements along with it's other running problems. Posted by "Gaurasundara das" @ 17:34. Saturday, January 07, 2006. I might read it sometime when I'm bored, but I'm afraid "I no feel da revolution vibe". I got turned off by all the discussion about sex and drugs, but I got mega-angry. News, Views, and Chews on spiritual issues. Wednesday, November 30, 2005. The Case of the 16,000 Wives. On another forum a discussion ensued about the nature of Krishna-lila, namely the lila describing Krishna's marriages to 16,108 damsels. Various points were made relating to the symbolic or literal nature of this lila, the former category of points making little sense. There were also some careless errors suggesting that the damsels were gopis. Why did Krishna leave Vraja? Where did He live then? To co...

News, Views, and Chews on spiritual issues. Friday, June 23, 2006. Chanting 64 Rounds a Day. My dear friend Sri Advaita dasji has recently posted his views on chanting 64 rounds. I must say that I agree in principle that the Gaudiya sadhakas must chant or aspire to chant 64 rounds of Sri Harinama per day, but I also acknowledge the reasons why it may be difficult to do so. Some time back I came across an interesting article. Which I think is more informative and enlightening. Other offences would also cr...

News, Views, and Chews on spiritual issues. Tuesday, August 30, 2005. Posted by "Gaurasundara das" @ 03:24. Hmm, a belated blogging, but here goes! All was great for Janmastami 2005! The only regret was that I was not able to serve to the fullness of my capacity due to a relative coming to stay during the period. I was only able to serve one day, but it was nice that it was the actual day (Friday) itself! This year Janmastami was celebrated at Bhaktivedanta Manor for three days continuously! I was at a g...

News, Views, and Chews on spiritual issues. Saturday, March 18, 2006. Shock Over Dhruva Maharaja (das). Today I found out some shocking news. About someone who I considered to be a good friend, Dhruva Maharaja das. I hardly ever read that Yahoogroup, so guess how I found out? Through the IRM magazine that is mailed to me and devotees everywhere and which constitutes a plague in the life of many sincere and practising devotees. Typical of me to be the last to know everything eh? The IRM presented that Yah...

News, Views, and Chews on spiritual issues. Friday, April 28, 2006. Some people wonder where I'm at with my faith in Gaudiya Vaishnavism. 'Still a survivor' is something I'd say; I'm still keeping up with my practices and all but yes, I have significantly decreased my active participation in some of the prominent GV forums out there. Punditry has it's pros (does it really? Know-it-all. "We must go and ask this guy because he knows EVERYTHING! Gaudiya Vaishnavism has very important twin-principles: Humili...

September 7, 2007 · 11:54 am. Regular readers of this blog (yes, all 3 of you) have probably noticed a change in the style of posts over the past few months. The reason is that I’ve been experimenting with a different type of blog. I’ve come to realise though, that this WordPress account doesn’t accommodate the style I want. I’ve therefore got a new blog, part of a project named simplykrishna, started with my good friend The KC Blogger. The new project can be seen here. The direct link to my blog is here.

What you didn't expect when you were expecting. December 25, 2013. How to Raise the Perfect Kid: Lessons from Square Watermelons. Ever heard of a square watermelon? Apparently, if you grow a watermelon in a box, it grows into a square shape. The environment you put the watermelon in directly affects the way the watermelon will turn out. I’ve been thinking about square watermelons because I think it’s a good analogy for raising children. I take forever to get ready. Written by Debra Carpenter. Why I'm not...
