Intrepid for 10 Minutes. After manic Mexico and barmy Belize we have now spent 3 weeks in Gorgeous Guatemala, it just gets better. However, the Intrepid camp has not been without its problems over the last 3 weeks! After Chris's cash card was compromised (emptied) in Mexico. I find the same had happened to mine as we entered Guatemala! Who says traveling is dangerous! Intrepid for 10 Minutes. White Christmas Mexican Style. After Pelenque we visited another 3 Archaeological sites, Edzna, Uxmal and Chichenitza. Edzna was the least well know but in many ways was the best. Almost as big as the other two was completely empty and nothing was roped off (unlike the other two where everything was roped off) so we could climb the Pyramids as much as we wanted. Uxmal Sound and Light. Cenote (natural water hole). Platform to a abseil into the Cenote. The road to Punte Allen.

Intrepid for 10 Minutes. A few days more. Our few days in. Turned into a few days more when we found El Zonte, a fabulous surf bay with a surfer hostel that allowed overlanders to stay in the grounds. It has a lovely garden with a large pool, a number of huge parrots and an aging 3 foot long Iguana roaming the grounds. There was also a large terrace overlooking the bay with another small pool at one end. We finally managed to drag ourselves away after 4 nights and drove the 150 miles to the other end of.

Intrepid for 10 Minutes. After a few days of hard driving we spent 4 days in Mazatlan, during which I spent birthday 63 on the beach. We also finally managed to replace the two tyres we tried to replace in San Diego, they still had to order the tyres, but this time they only took 40 minutes. As we were stopped I decided to check the front breaks and just as well as one of the pads was almost to the metal. Checking everything out whilst it was jacked up I found some play in one of the track rod ends.

This was the day after almost walking into one on the top of an historical mound that used to have a fortified Indian village on top.
