Tiny Flame: May 2008
http://tinyflame.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 29, 2008. Peter Sagal and Who Hears a Girl? I really do love Peter Sagal who I listen to as often as possible on NPR's "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me! A friend recently sent me a story from NPR that I had missed and it gave me yet another reason to love Peter Sagal. In the article, he talks all about how few girls/ladies/women get to save the day in Hollywood movies. The article was spurred by the movie Whoville. Links to this post. Monday, May 12, 2008. Tiny Flame: March 2008
http://tinyflame.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 18, 2008. And, I'm back. I have definitely been a slacker in my blogging duties. It has been an interesting few weeks and I just haven't been able to devote a lot of time to the blog. But, I have blogging feeling once again. So, what have I been up to? I finished grad school, had some vacation where I read a lot, knit a lot, and got my new sewing machine up and going for some fantastic but totally unusable dish towels and coasters, and finally started a new job! Wednesday, May 13, 2009. Baby Baas and Yarn Festivals. Check out that baby lambie! The little one has reminded me of the Iowa Sheep and Wool Festival happening this June. My sources tell me it is fantastic and that I can both see sheepies and get fabulous yarn! Check out their website at http:/ www.iowasheep.com/Festival.html. I once came across your blog at random when I was running an older blog. I came by again and I still like the content. Mind if I link you? June 27, 2009 at 8:27 AM.

Thursday, March 26, 2009. Darwin’s Wake Splashed Artists, Too. This is a cool article from the New York Times about an exhibition showing how Darwin's work has been portrayed in so many ways through art. Maybe It Was the Commercials. This is another article from the New York Times about how we tend to like entertainment better when it is broken into smaller segments. So, while the commercials may be annoying, they may also be helping you to enjoy the show! Energy Secretary Serves Under a Microscope.

Tiny Flame: Where are the lady scientists?
http://tinyflame.blogspot.com/2009/06/where-are-lady-scientists.html
Monday, June 29, 2009. Where are the lady scientists? I really love Threadless. And their fantastic, hilarious tshirts! In fact, I own quite a few of them. I was, at first, really excited to see a reprint of a shirt named, "Run, Scientists, Run! And was just about to buy it. But, then I came to the crushing realization that one little detail means that I can't buy it. But, wait, why are ALL the scientists dudes? Labels: women in science. Tuesday, June 30, 2009. I just found a fabulous new crafty blog with free patterns called Pickles. I first found out about it through Apartment Therapy. Which I also love and frequent) when they posted a picture and link to this fabulous knitted puff! According to Pickles, puff is the Norwegian word for stool and is also the word for the first piece of furniture I will be knitting! It looks so comfy! Links to this post.
