Thoughts on cooperation, collaboration and making consortia work. Wednesday, August 1, 2012. Developed by Edward De Bono, as a tool for this work. Since I had never heard of the Six Hats, or Edward De Bono, immediately after my call with Laura I did what any good librarian does; I bought the book. In a nutshell, the process is based upon the idea of six different colored hats, each of which has a particular role in focusing thinking in a particular direction. Hat is facts and figures. And the person who'...

Thoughts on cooperation, collaboration and making consortia work. Wednesday, June 29, 2011. Innovation, failure and the economy. The title of this post is derived from 3 themes I keep bumping into. I'm wondering if it's the same for you, too. I know it is with respect to 'the economy.' That's like whack-a-mole. But what about the other two? I've been thinking and talking about the importance of failure for organizations and collaborations in a few different contexts recently. A blog post at ARCLog. Or ha...

Thoughts on cooperation, collaboration and making consortia work. Thursday, July 28, 2011. The Annual Meeting of AALL adjourned earlier this week in Philly. Congratulations to everyone who made it such a productive endeavor! It was a very successful meeting for me personally and for NELLCO. The always effervescent Theresa McCue staffed the NELLCO booth for the entire meeting, and her friendly and helpful personality drew members and non-members alike like moths to the flame!
